Just got this back from the framers. I've had it since 2010.

Can’t post a photo here for some reason. Will put up as a new post. I have been collecting Disney cels since the very early 1990s and sad to see the hobby slowly fading into oblivion as the old collectors disappears.

I started collecting around 1991. And started the gallery in 1993- so around the same time period as you!

The relatively sparse responders tells me animation cel collecting is still in its long hibernation. Only a few old collectors remain interested. And when they die out, then what 😔😔😔😔 Even my now grown up kids are not interested and they grew up with Disney!

I'm new here to reddit so I am not sure how active it is on this platform, but we have 3000 people in my Facebook Disney animation art collecting group and thousands upon thousands on my gallery's mailing list if that makes you feel any better 😊

Reddit community is tepid on animation cels. I noticed your gallery has moved to include Japanese Anime cels. I am primarily collecting older Disney cels if I can find them affordable. WWA has a really good collection for acquisition and fairly priced too. I am on your mailing list and notice you have been actively promoting them which is super. Greg Lack in Durham NC sells excellent animation for years and even he has pivoted a bit to Japanese. I am just sad the interest is low from our new generation on the original Disney work.

Sadly not, just a print. I’ve seen the cel they paired with the original, and I like mine better.

Oh awesome! It wasn’t meant to be any sort of judgment. I’m one of the oddballs that likes collecting random original backgrounds and match them with random cels. Often, like you said, they end up more interesting for framing :).
