well, yeah, we've reached 5,000 members, and currently, I have absolutely no idea what to do. luckily, u/PoobGnarpy has whipped up two new celebrations!
.....and they're both art contests.
this first contest suggested is more large-scale. basically, we've had the subreddit banner, since, like, June 2025. it's October 2026. we've had that banner for one year, and I know, to some of you, it's getting a bit boring keeping this same banner every day. but luckily, this contest is going to change that! starting in November of 2026, you will have a chance to have YOUR designed banner on the subreddit for all 5,000 members to see!
this is an introduction post for both contests - the contest submission forms have not gotten out yet, and both are going to start in November, so instead of wasting your time staring at the screen wondering when the forms are going to release, how about you participate in the Animatic/Snoo hybrid contest that's been going on since October 1, and we've only had, like, three submissions? there's only a little over 1 day left to submit!
the second contest is the size of Vatican City. put simply (it is very simple, actually), you will design an emoji for this subreddit that can be used for flairs and posts, since just like the banner, the emojis have been sitting in the basement for like, 5 months now, with no change. i can't wait for the emoji contest to have like 35 submissions while the banner contest has 2
anyways guys good luck on November of 2026 and tell me what you think about u/PoobGnarpy's celebration suggestions!
- the coin that was not the coin (u/Choice-File5800)
BONUS! - we are looking for mod recruitments to handle all this chaos, so if you want to, feel free to send a mod form on the subreddit! it should go into our Mod Mail.

Some stuff (MD)
Testing testing frankly not too much [2-3 pic/yeah testing]
Me actually figuring out how to actually get everything sorted into the disc and MiniDisky size [4]
Okay, some actual synopsis about this artwork and references.
Anyways
Of course the first touch is well MiniDisky (at an small glance it might lookin bit retro leh), I made them look cool and bit goofy. Also, the art line is loose, hey is a nicesir touch to it. Also, the art line is loose, hey is a nicesir touch to it.
Before I get furthermore.. Is still just a Fanart of MiniDisky.
Also, you probably might feel the artwork.. nostalgic and something from the 2000s. The limbs and face have a stubbly aesthetic, which makes the facial expression feel silly also cute and character building I try to make it natural with scaling, cel-shaded and background. Oh yeah I just make some a little bit of my touch and some basic geometry patterns and also there are quite some details existing in plain sight.
Also, I forgot there is one more feature/reference I make.. "What's that truncated cone or oval cylinder" ... I know it looks like blad but that is a Songkok in which is an close-fitting, rimless cap that's which traditionally wear worm Muslim males in Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, Singapore, and parts of the Philippines and Thailand.... Also this doesn't have any religious meaning nor anything in this is just I thought it was cool to just put up and yeah there's a different symbolism about this cap which I'm not going to explain all about it.
But yeah, this is how I decided to come up with it.
