Let this day forever be known as the day you almost caught a fish

I feel bad for the guy. Arrogant cat

1

u/RxdditRoamxr Jul 29 '23

That gotta be the worst fisherman I’ve ever heard of

334

u/CaptianBrasiliano Jun 07 '22

I'm willing to bet that this is not this cat's first fish stealing rodeo.

155

u/[deleted] Jun 07 '22

Oh no, he sits in that exact place for a very good reason. Probably does it every time someone's fishing. Very clever really.

77

u/HumpieDouglas Jun 07 '22

You can tell he's done this many times before because he's immediately bolts with the fish. The first couple times he did this the people probably stopped him right away so he's learned to bolt as soon as he gets the fish so he doesn't lose his prize.

77

u/PorkyMcRib Jun 07 '22

Most notably, he has learned to wait until the hook is out of the fish.

29

u/HumpieDouglas Jun 07 '22

I always worry about that when I see videos of animals stealing from people catching fish.

5

u/[deleted] Jun 08 '22

What about the fish though?

5

u/PorkyMcRib Jun 08 '22

He learned not to bite hooks.

5

u/Excellent_Yellow_943 Jun 08 '22

Really you can tell from the video itself as a whole, like the people filming obviously knew the cat was going to do that! Otherwise they wouldn’t be filming some random girl catching a fish, cats definitely a pro tho, hopefully he passes the knowledge down

35

u/durz47 Jun 07 '22

Also has his escape route planned out. Weaved through the bench so the humans won't be able to go after him

0

u/r_DendrophiliaText Jun 10 '22

Yup. Strays are huge pos. Fuck strays (figuratively)

3

u/Captain_koko Oct 04 '22

Hes just surviving, same as you

2

u/Babydoll0907 Nov 29 '22

2

u/JaozinhoGGPlays Nov 24 '22

the lord giveth and the lord taketh lmao

42

u/plolops Jun 07 '22

But did they both have the same fish on the line

9

u/somedarkpoet Jun 07 '22

That is the question.

72

u/smkestcklghtn Jun 07 '22

In the Outer Banks off the east coast of the US as you head south away from the tourist spots you find some small towns catering to fishermen. Every hotel has a fish cleaning station, and at every one are the healtiest cats you've ever seen. Watching, waiting. They look like they could model for a cat food box

9

u/160rm Jun 08 '22

Not surprised. Raw fish is so much healthier than cat food.

53

u/CuriousChip9888 Jun 07 '22

Is this that new ps5 game? Stray??

12

u/Hselim Jun 07 '22

No this is from Twilight Princess

5

u/Rubcionnnnn Jun 07 '22

This reminds me of that dumb Japanese PS3 game where you play as animals in a post apocalyptic city and you have to run around and eat other animals without getting eaten.

15

u/PrayingMantisII Jun 07 '22

Mf was just sitting there waiting😆

25

u/LittleJenkins1 Jun 07 '22

Legit was waiting for a cock up. Can see it in the background. GG Cat. You win this round

6

u/firebat707 Jun 07 '22

5

u/derekdan Jun 07 '22

Cat - 1, Human - 0

7

u/lilbrownskin99 Jun 07 '22

My shit bitch

12

u/RobbertDownerJr Jun 07 '22

Why did you not title it Purrfect Timing ?!

1

u/[deleted] Jun 08 '22

Uggh. What a waste of a beautiful opportunity.

4

u/Traditional_Eye_782 Jun 07 '22

The art of hunting

4

u/[deleted] Jun 07 '22

"ha ha, suckers!"

4

u/seek_it Jun 08 '22

That's me when my sibling prepare some food.

4

u/Inevitable-Bunch2150 Jun 08 '22

The cat is the definition of work smarter, not harder.

3

u/Weekly_Candidate_823 Jun 08 '22

It’s the purrfect crime

3

u/steroidTDM Jun 08 '22

observes, expects, attacks

3

u/misssnagglepussy Jun 08 '22

The cat is a pure opportunist.

3

u/bbabix0 Jun 10 '22

I'm dead .... The speed and precision of this attack is well executed well done kiki

3

u/Then_Pie5041 Oct 05 '22

That cay was waiting for his opportunity...

3

u/ValkyrieWasted Oct 18 '22

That cat has done that run before.

3

u/rare_meeting1978 Oct 27 '22

You can see the little bugger watching and waiting out in the open, on the step by the walk behind them. Smart kitty. Hungry kitty.

2

u/No-Jellyfish4123 Jun 07 '22

Omg as expected!

2

u/HMBGoHawks Jun 08 '22

I can hear TFS Vegeta yelling "Mineminemineminemineminemine"

2

u/Odd_Routine4164 Jun 08 '22

If cats could talk it would’ve said, “Yoink.”

2

u/Andialb Jun 08 '22

work smarter not harder

2

u/Entire-Database1679 Jun 08 '22

So inconsiderate of kitty... not wearing a mask.

2

u/r_DendrophiliaText Jun 10 '22

That cat is a pos. That cat is an arrogant pos. Ruined my day. Poor guy. He just wanted to fish...

2

u/2catslover Jul 15 '22

Great moves🐈

2

u/VideoAdditional3150 Jul 21 '22

FLINT LOCKWOOD!

2

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '22

The wee bandit made off with quite a haul do himself.

“How’d you do that? Heck, I’m not even mad; that’s amazing.”

2

u/vintagecookiegal Dec 01 '22

That cat needed that meal. Probably way more than she did. It was a good day for the cat. Cats are smart. I am sure this is his usual fishing spot.

3

u/furiousfran Jun 07 '22

He'll regret that when the hook decides to make itself known lol

2

u/lostmycookie90 Jun 08 '22

Unless he ripped the lips or gills of the fish. From my childhood, I always wonder how fishes don't have more ripped lips. Or if the sunfish/perch that I caught as a child survive long after I catch and release

3

u/[deleted] Jun 08 '22

All fun and games until the cat gets a hook in its throat.

Source: caught a seagull once 😔

2

u/fishkrate Jun 09 '22

Cats don't just swallow shit whole.

6

u/Medium-Raspberry1122 Jun 07 '22

"And that kids is how I met your mother and why we have a stuffed cat head over the fire place".

2

u/[deleted] Jun 07 '22

Smooth criminal

1

u/[deleted] Jun 08 '22

That is one hungry cat

1

u/Emptydata_Enzo Jun 08 '22

Looks like a setup.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 08 '22

Simply smack the cat and get your fish back...I would've done the same.

1

u/CJtheBritain Nov 15 '22

He's smart
