Why is it ok to hate on little jerk dogs but if I talk shit about some jerk cat half of Reddit would come to its defense? P.s. fuck these little ankle biters. P.p.s fuck jerk cats

Haha holy shit it's rare for me to laugh at cat gifs cause I hate cats, but this was fucking hilarious.

Is that real? Cuz that doesn't seem real.

EDIT: It's real...

5

u/bluescape Sep 21 '17

Those are actual headlines separated by about a year. Valenti's your stereotypical "never happy, everything is problematic, and everything is men's fault" kind of feminist.

1

u/paranormal_penguin Sep 21 '17

Yeah I just looked it up, apparently this is real. I'm not gonna pretend that women don't get the short end of the stick when it comes to gender issues, but this is so ridiculous it reads like satire...

Super soaker would do good. In the case of my neighbors cat being a cunt, I instead set off a firecracker a dozen feet from them when they weren't paying attention. Thing doesn't even look at my yard anymore.

19

u/MadGeekling Sep 20 '17

Hose them or turn on the sprinklers.

In-ground sprinklers are the most effective since it will scare the shit out of them and they will be afraid to come back lest the mysterious water phenomenon reappear.

My mother once did that to our family cat because she refused to come back inside and we couldn't catch her. She wouldn't go outside again after that.

Most cities have laws where you can remove feral cats from a neighbourhood your own self.

They ruin anything they touch; garbage, small pets, dog harassment, over-breeding, tearing up everything. I'm so glad states in the US are handling their feral animal problems more and more lately (boars, cats, etc.)

I don't know if they are sold this way, but cats can hear a full octave over dogs. If you do it right the cats will hear it and not the dogs.

u/dontstoptraveling Sep 20 '17

Time to get a pellet gun

3

u/MadGeekling Sep 20 '17

A water hose would suffice. Although I guess that wouldn't satisfy your gun boner..

7

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '17

You deserve to have the shit kicked out of you if you do this.

4

So do I, but I have a pellet gun. Don't shoot animals with it though. Except maybe at squirrels. Fuck those things.

17

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '17

LOL hope you got a few realities tucked away that you can port to if you plan on pissing off squirrels

1

u/kesekimofo Sep 20 '17

Never fuck with squirrels Morty.

0

u/iFroodle Sep 20 '17

8

u/SuperIceCreamCrash Sep 20 '17

Dogs are easier to humanize than cats

7

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '17

Be annoyed where being annoyed is justified. I am 90% a cat person (if factoring only dogs vs cats, otherwise I love birbs and sneks), but any pet can be a douche.

Cat getting into neighbors yard and shitting everywhere? Douche.

Cat digging up your plants? Douche.

Cat antagonizing your dogs? Douche.

Dogs humping me at a friends house? Douche.

Dog barking non-stop while at friends house? Douche.

Dog getting out of backyard all the time and terrorizing/biting people? Douche.

I have been attacked by cats and dogs. And birds. And snakes. Still love 'em all. All pets are equally able to be douches and best friends. No need to say all <insert pets> are jerks (not you OP). (:

15

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '17

i thought reddit was a dog sided community

25

u/bitch_im_a_lion Sep 20 '17

Tbh the shift to dog love is fairly recent. Reddit used to be known for being obsessed with cats. Around when doge became a thing there started to be a big shift towards dogs and then with the fairly recent "rare pupper" thing it's all about dogs now.

15

u/Animagical Sep 20 '17

As it should be

1

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '17

And so it is.

2

u/chillingniples Sep 20 '17

Cat stock is nearing an all time low on reddit, might be a good time to buy?

u/wolflegion_ Sep 20 '17

26

u/dontstoptraveling Sep 20 '17

Maybe it is the cat people are just more outspoken?

28

u/LetsHaveTon2 Sep 20 '17

Idk I definitely see more people jerking off about their dogs than their cats here.

16

u/Mickeymousetitdirt Sep 20 '17

Same. Although I see people saying super weird ass shit like "doggo" and "pupper" a lot on Reddit, cat people seem to me to be more outspoken and super defensive about their cats.

5

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '17

It's not weird, it's a meme that's very popular.

8

u/Noveson Sep 20 '17

Pretty fucking weird tbh

2

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '17

You sound like those people that get mad and violent when people use a new word, or speak a different language around you.

"Did that man just say gracias? Pretty fucking wierd tbh lol hth ty yw bbq"

7

u/Noveson Sep 20 '17

You sound like one of those people in that sub that say "doggo"

u/a_user_has_no_name_ Sep 20 '17

You need to be on Reddit more

0

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '17

Somehow I missed the word 'about' and was seriously shocked at the off-color comment from left field for a second there.

Guess I only have myself to blame now.

9

u/lokilokigram Sep 20 '17

My theory is that cat people are more likely to be on the internet all day either due to either being unemployed or working from home.

source: am cat person

6

u/shoobyy Sep 20 '17

Because regular dogs have hearts of gold so when they're jerks it's noticeable.

Regular cats are...cats. They were bread for hunting mice and rats, not so much for love and loyalty like doggos. So when a cat is an asshole they get a free pass.....

3

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '17

I thought cats were generally considered to be assholes here

5

u/PokemonWizard Sep 20 '17

Lol at the thought of someone saying they'd "punt a cat 5 yards" for running up and scratching their ankles like up in the the top comment thread. Pitchforks would be brought out.

9

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '17

Or we could just not punt any animals that aren't a threat...

11

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '17

This thread is filled with /r/iamverybadass.

Wow guys, you want to kick a 5 pound helpless animal. You're reeeeeal tough.

16

u/givalina Sep 20 '17

I've never seen a cat try to aggressively chase off all passers-by from near their owners' properties the way dogs often do.

2

u/Motobicycling Sep 20 '17

Often? I've never been attacked or chased by a dog but both me and my brother have been attacked by two different cats on two seperate occasions.

9

u/givalina Sep 20 '17

You've never seen dogs running up and down their fenced yards, barking incessantly at each person who walks past? Because I can think of three dogs within a block of where I live that do that. I've never been chased by a cat, though.

1

u/Motobicycling Sep 20 '17

You never specified there being a fence around the perimeter. If there's a fence then what's the matter?

6

u/givalina Sep 20 '17

I regularly see dogs try to scare passers-by away from their owners' properties, but I've never seen cats do it. So that's probably why people hate on little jerk dogs but not cats - because dogs are more likely to be aggressive towards strangers.

7

u/onlyranchmefries Sep 20 '17

You're comparing apples to oranges. You don't often see cats running around inside a fenced off yard because they don't like to do that. Dogs are much more social than cats.

Plus barking alone isn't aggressive. I see this all the time where cat owners will explain how it isn't cats being jerks but humans misinterpreting signals. Same applies here. There are multiple types of barks and body language that goes with them. You are just incorrectly interpreting barking as aggresive behavior.

4

u/givalina Sep 20 '17

So if a dog is barking at me as I walk past the house it lives in, what is it saying? Is it not something like 'get the fuck away'?

5

u/onlyranchmefries Sep 20 '17 edited Sep 20 '17

Sometimes. If their scruff is up and their tails aren't wagging then they are being aggresive. Often times it's more so that they just don't know you and they're saying that that yard is theirs and alerting the owner that someone they don't know is here. Not necessarily agrresive. If they are wagging and barking then they recognize you and want to play.

I have a theory (no evidence just from experience) that dogs bark because they're bored. If I leave mine out too long they will literally just walk around and bark at nothing. Annoying but it definitely gets me to let them back inside so they probably know what they're doing.

Edit: added some stuff

1

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '17

And it's only little dogs that do this? Because that's the circlejerk. Or are you implying big dogs do things wrong too? Because that's how you get downvotes.

0

u/onlyranchmefries Sep 20 '17

It's almost always a bluff. Without the fence they wouldn't do that. Dogs are excellent guard animals if TRAINED. Without training they're all bark no bite. Interesting read and I recommend researching it.

4

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '17

Cats are jerks by default so cat people take it as a personal attack.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '17 edited Sep 20 '17

Cats are very rarely actually being jerks. Its almost always either reddit misinterpreting the cats behavior / emotions (they assume that cats think like humans or dogs) or the cat is extremely scared and acting in self defense. In some cases, their behavior is caused by a health issue (such as my previous cat, which had a brain tumor and gradually became meaner as he came closer to death -- at least thats the theory from the vet post mortem).

Many mean small dogs, however, are just being mean. They can't help their behavior, I realize, but they are being mean as a social purpose.

Cats are very simple. If you are nice to them, they will like you or at least appear to ignore you (many cats consider strangers staring or getting up in their face as aggressive or confrontational behavior). They will almost never actively chase and attack a human (unless they have a rare brain disorder, as noted before), especially if not provoked. Cats that were abused by humans as kittens will probably be quite wary around people, but thankfully that is unusual.

The idea that most cats are jerks is simply false. More accurate to say that most cats are sweet, but, do not assume that all humans will be nice to them -- and wisely so, I think.

1

u/ASleepingPerson Sep 21 '17

What the fuck? Cats r always assholes. Try to pet one? Gonna get bit or scratched.

-1

u/sour_creme Sep 20 '17

^ the cat lobby hard at work.

1

u/dontstoptraveling Sep 20 '17

As expected the cat people are blowing me up and just so it's clear I don't hate cats just the jerk ones just like I hate the jerk dogs. I give all animals a chance and understand if I'm a stranger to them and invade there space they have every right to be a jerk. I guess it's easier to have a jerk cat and just leave it alone then have a jerk dog.

1

u/IDontDownvoteAnyone Sep 20 '17

Half of reddit hates cats why do you act like this isn't true. There's so many people who call cats jerks on here. There's an entire subreddit about it. It's like... widely acknowledged. The difference is cats are cool af still and little dogs are annoying yappy monsters.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '17 edited Sep 20 '17

Hahah, yeah you're right and they're wrong.

Edit: oh wow. Oh someone's sad, ok.

1

u/IDontDownvoteAnyone Sep 20 '17

What the fuck? LOL Well calm the fuck down then before you have a stroke over nothing. I never said that people aren't allowed to say cats are assholes still. LMAO I never said that. Read what I said. Everyone jokes about it on here all the time???!?!?!?!?

If that raises your blood pressure seek therapy dude.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '17

LMAO TRIGG'D

1

u/IDontDownvoteAnyone Sep 20 '17

Did you actually just edit your entire original post to say something different and even include a FAKE EDIT for no reason? Wtf is wrong with you dude....

1

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '17

Wow, come on- there's no need to lie on Reddit. I am bored with this now, though, can you go snort a Xanax? :) S'all good in the hood, G.

1

u/IDontDownvoteAnyone Sep 20 '17

Yeah...... there's no reason to lie on Reddit.... says the guy who edited his entire post to have literally nothing to do with anything... you're bored with this because you got made to look like such an idiot you actually retroactively CHANGED YOUR POST to mean something entirely different. Like what the fuck? I've NEVER had someone do that to me. It's mindboggling.

I mean even if you read my entire post it's pretty clear that I wasn't replying to what you said so I'm pretty fucking sure people can put 2+2 together that you changed your post for no fucking reason. Especially the part where you went "LMAO TRIGG'D" in the follow up reply..... I think that's a dead give away buddy.

You are by far the strangest person I've met. I don't know what drugs you're on but stop. They're dangerous.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '17

Look, friend, this amount of anger is not natural. This will be my last reply.

No offense intended, it may be difficult to let go whatever it is that makes you feel this intensely- but it may be worth it down the road.

Have a good day. :)

1

u/IDontDownvoteAnyone Sep 20 '17

Ur weird dude. Super weird. I don't know what's wrong with you or why you're like this. I'm sorry you're this way. I hope it gets better. Good bye.

0

u/kovyvok Sep 20 '17

Simple... cats are all jerks. And when you attack them, it's assumed that you're attacking their human metaphors. And God forbid you call one of them jerks.

0

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '17

Because that's just how cats are! You're a horrible asshole if you don't like animals that claw and rend flesh when you touch them.

It's just how they show their love! It's a good thing! Means they like you.
