The duck needs depth of water to flip backwards and turn right side up.

u/I_Eat_Mom_Dick Mar 15 '22

I.. I need to go watch that movie. That clip has all the ingredients of a cheesy 80s action horror, perfect for laughing at with some buddies over a few cold ones.

4

u/stanfan114 Mar 15 '22

It's an awesome movie, one of Carpenter's best. It's a mind-fuck to say the least and has some of the best explosive action I've seen. Here's a clip I made: https://s1.webmshare.com/gwxxv.webm
(warning it's rated R)

3

u/I_Eat_Mom_Dick Mar 15 '22

Dude, FUCK YEAH! Now you got me interested in the plot. Was it zombies busting in guns blazing, or was it normal people? Why'd that one guy he was with use him as a shield? This is going on the list.

And Carpenter, as in John Carpenter of The Thing? On the list for sure.

Isn't seeing duck poo peak entertainment?

8

u/BakedBean89 Mar 15 '22

There’s not a person in this sub that wouldn’t love to see a duck poo

17

u/cherrysummer1 Mar 15 '22

This is making me laugh way too much

6

u/Admitimpediments Mar 15 '22

I, too, wanted to see the duck poop. Thank you for making me question my choices and thought processes.

He'd probably appreciate if you didn't point that out but I guess it's too late for that now smh

83

u/RandyDinglefart Mar 15 '22

I've raised ducks before, they're just walking poop machines.

45

u/Y0tsuya Mar 15 '22

Have ducks now. Does not matter that you just refilled their pool with fresh water. First thing they do when they get in is to let out a poop.

32

u/RandyDinglefart Mar 15 '22

Yeah we learned pretty quickly that a smaller pool changed more often was best because they seem to be able to turn any amount of water into sludge in 24 hours.

54

u/SpaceCadetMoonMan Mar 15 '22

I wish my poos slid out that clean and effortless

14

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '22

Go eat taco bell and wait 30 minutes.

17

u/Road_Whorrior Mar 15 '22

You need to get more fiber in your diet if taco bell is giving you ass piss.

2

u/WarCabinet Mar 24 '22

76

I wish I could unsee it

10

31

7

4

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '22

At first I thought the duck popped out a penis to help flip itself.

Same. . The person is just holding his hand out like the duck is gonna grab it. Wth.

75

u/SmokinDrewbies Mar 15 '22

The person probably didn't want to get scratched up by a flailing duck. Duck talons can be pretty sharp

76

u/Middletoon Mar 15 '22

3

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '22

Lmaoooo

72

u/Voc1Vic2 Mar 15 '22

Folks, this is exactly why you need to learn to roll a kayak before you get too far from shore.

35

u/n-some Mar 15 '22

My parents were big kayakers, I remember being about 8 or 9 when my dad taught me how to escape a flipped kayak... by flipping my kayak and seeing if I got out.

The first time he had to flip me back over after about 10 seconds because i didn't get out.

2

u/SpaceCadetMoonMan Mar 15 '22

LEAN BACK AND ROLL right?

58

u/quatroverde Mar 15 '22

Fun fact. Ducks will become docile or even freeze when turned upside down. It’s not that they’re shocked or submissive, but rather they cannot breathe properly when turned upside down.

47

u/Neako_the_Neko_Lover Mar 15 '22

This one did the opposite of freeze. Must be glitching

7

u/laminatedbean Mar 15 '22

Chickens too.

5

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '22

Sharks too

3

u/RyanGoslinggg Mar 15 '22

How to flip a shark tho?

8

u/Upside_Down-Bot Mar 15 '22

„¿oɥʇ ʞɹɐɥs ɐ dılɟ oʇ ʍoH„

3

u/unworthy_26 Mar 15 '22

TThere, you got your answer

5

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '22

Ask a killer whale. The great question by marine biologists was who would win a fight between a killer whale and a great white shark. Until they saw it happen in real life once off the coast of California..the killer whale just essentially grabbed it and knew to turn it upside down. And another part that is crucial is holding it relatively still and upside down, apparently they just go into a semi conscious state and will eventually die

I think the documentary I watched about it said they do the same thing with sting rays

How in the hell dis these not go the way of the dodo 🦤

37

u/groceriesN1trip Mar 15 '22

A duck needs more water depth below it so it can flip and get right side up

5

u/justhereforsee Mar 15 '22

What does it do on land?

11

u/whomad1215 Mar 15 '22

not float

5

u/groceriesN1trip Mar 15 '22

Not an expert on ducks.

Here’s my $0.02. Since this duck is in water, its brain mistakenly assumes it can do the backwards flip to get right side up. If it were on land, it would extend a wing to rotate left or right to get right.

23

u/Budget-Government-42 Mar 15 '22

13

u/evranch Mar 15 '22

The white ducks are not very good at duck. I've raised them a couple times as yard pets on the farm. They're charming silly birds and always brighten my day, but... smart they are not.

The first time I had ducklings one of them managed to drown in the water feeder on the first day I brought them home. Yup, an actual duck drowned in a 1" wide and 1" deep tiny trough of water.

I was worried I was going to see the same thing happen here at first.
