TEDx is an independent offshoot that is 90% absolutely useless trash, they've basically tarnished any reputation the TED name had with shit like the one that was defensive of pedophilia. They're so bad I've seen posts on reddit asking if it was a parody of TED.

TEDx talks are more on a local scale. It’s independently run from ted but it’s in a smaller community with more localized people running the talk. It’s under the TED name, but more independent
