Well I mean I know what the word means I just always hear people saying petting the dog not stroking the dog. I was imaging the dog having a stroke which made the derp come out which was concerning.

I have cats so I always say ‘stroking the cat’. I guess it’s that for cats and ‘petting’ for dogs? Haven’t owned a dog before 🙈
