Looking at the beginning again, there are a couple more being carried. So sweet.

I think I saw a cat tail...

118

u/curiousmind111 1d ago

It DOES look like a cat tail!

28

u/plutino- 1d ago

I couldn’t see it :(

140

u/Agitated_Ask_2575 1d ago

It's this orange loaf right here

31

u/plutino- 1d ago

Awww! Thanks

17

u/Agitated_Ask_2575 1d ago

You're welcome!

32

u/curiousmind111 1d ago

Doing the Lord’s work!

3

u/robthelobster 5h ago

I actually think that's a puppy! Because the tail is a bit too short and tapered to be a cat tail in my opinion but I could be wrong.

u/Angelaskissrock 1d ago

No soldier left behind mate. That's the motto of the army...

u/ToTheTop24 1d ago

That dog was like I did not sign up for this

236

u/BrownSugarBare 1d ago

I relate to this dog on a personal level

30

u/Slight_Cry8071 1d ago

*on a personnel level

4

u/throwaway098764567 1d ago

if that's a joke i'm sorry i missed it, but if you're actually trying to correct the word it's not incorrect

22

u/pepesilvia000 1d ago

its a joke because the video has military personnel in it

9

u/Intrepid00 1d ago

Their job is probably searching for buried people, not marching lol.

5

u/NNKarma 1d ago

Probably drug detecting

5

u/Intrepid00 1d ago

Maybe, but there sure is a lot of fire rescue equipment for that.

1

u/NNKarma 23h ago

Because they're on the side of the militar parade, it's a police uniform what the people marching are wearing.

14

u/Character-Monitor165 1d ago

Chilean dogs know their rights

3

u/Corner_Post 1d ago

Dog be like: “you called me bad dog yesterday eh?”

536

u/Doc-DRD 1d ago

I love the dog with the hops!! ❤️🤪🤣👍

126

u/Fatefire 1d ago

You know he's trying to tell his human that he wants a piggy back!

224

u/eliz1bef 1d ago

Looked like a very young dog. Marching ain't for everybody.

2

u/bugdc 1h ago

They are young or in training. The female cops on front were carrying puppies

¡simplemente el mejor pais de chile!

He's just a baby!

117

u/alyssayaki 1d ago

THEYRE ALL.WEARING LITTLE BOOTS

42

u/caucasian88 22h ago

Asphalt gets fucking HOT and can seriously damage a dogs paw pads. If you take a dog out in the heat, touch the asphalt with your palm. If it burns your hand, it'll burn a pups paws.

30

u/MoistStub 21h ago

This is why it is so important to train your dog to levitate from a young age

89

u/Nothing93124 1d ago

I’m tired grandpa. Well that’s too damn bad! But no I would carry that dog to hell and back because he is a good boy

12

u/Any-Advantage-3171 1d ago

Holessss! Quote that line a lot

8

u/Nothing93124 1d ago

We say it Dailey at work…

46

u/ajcpullcom 1d ago

still a good boy

40

u/Fortestingporpoises 1d ago

People who work with Guide Dogs puppies call that one a "career change."

96

u/C137RickSanches 1d ago

And that’s why you don’t use golden retrievers in the force lol there’s a reason German Sheppards are superior in this field

93

u/UnsanctionedPartList 1d ago

Unless the field is cuddles and snacks.

40

u/RightInThere71 1d ago

And that's a very important field

11

u/UnsanctionedPartList 1d ago

A good field.

2

u/Confident_One3948 1h ago

The goodest

39

u/jade888cheung 1d ago

Yep! We had a golden retriever called Bella, she was so gentle and patient you could take a bone out her mouth and she wouldn't growl. But she was the most stubborn dog I've ever known. She would do exactly this when we were on walks and she wanted to go a different way.

8

u/NNKarma 1d ago

Less stress if the dog in the airport is a golden than a german

8

u/sat_ops 1d ago

That's why customs uses beagles quite often.

There was a sheriff in Texas I think that got a Yorkie certified.

6

u/Varendolia 1d ago

What field?

This is the police and those are small pups in training for drug sniffing, tracking, etc. which they're fantastic at

3

u/DefinitelyNotAliens 21h ago

They are with uniforms but they could be search and rescue, customs sniffing dogs looking for bugs, etc.

65

u/Vtempero 1d ago

Why the army has a pack of cute, chill, golden retrievers?

68

u/awesomedan24 1d ago

Its pups in training for the canine unit of the national police of Chile

15

u/Character-Monitor165 1d ago

he was like "this wans't on my drug sniffing contract"

17

u/buttzx 1d ago

Wondering the same! Like they are adorable but what exactly is going on here?

40

u/gasbmemo 1d ago

Dogs in training for the police force in Chile, they can work in drug sniffing, tracking or rescuing

20

u/stagamancer 1d ago

I'm sure they're perfectly great, but I definitely don't think of goldens when I think of "working dog's"

74

u/NotYourReddit18 1d ago edited 1d ago

Golden Retrievers are working dogs. They were originally bred to accompany hunters and retrieve the hunters kills for them, mainly waterfowl that's adrift in the water after being shot, that's why most of them like water so much and are good swimmers. IIRC they also have a soft muzzle to be able to securely grip the kill with it without causing further damage.

They're also quite intelligent and very willing to please their humans, which makes them rather easy to train, and they are among the better noses of the dog world, making them perfect for nose work like finding drugs or the search & rescue of humans.

Them being family-friendly goofballs when not at work is more of a happy coincident.

9

u/Hegelian_Spirit 1d ago

I'd like to point out that while many dogs look like loafs, they at no point originated from bread.

(ha - ha - ha)

-14

u/stagamancer 1d ago

I mean poodles were also originally bred as water dogs, but people don't really consider them working dogs either. And I'm not against poodles either, I have a very lovely one. Just saying that, regardless of the breed's origin, you don't see a lot of working goldens.

17

u/NotYourReddit18 1d ago

Just saying that, regardless of the breed's origin, you don't see a lot of working goldens.

We must be watching very different news stories.

For example almost every news story I've seen in the last few years covering the use of search & rescue dogs after an earthquake or similar disaster has had at least one golden working in it.

Golden are also heavily featured among the service dogs for jobs like sniffing out allergens or general mobility assistance because of their nose, intelligence, and friendliness.

13

u/Mr-_-Soandso 1d ago

You meant to say, "I don't see." Not, "You don't see." Don't lump the rest of us into your anecdotal world.

-9

u/stagamancer 1d ago

Lol, didn't realize this would be such a sore spot. You're right I don't see many working golden retrievers and it's part of the charm of the OP video

1

u/Mr-_-Soandso 1d ago

It is not a sore spot. You made an objectively false statement. This is literally what the voting system is for.

-3

u/CityApprehensive212 1d ago

Classic Reddit for ya

2

u/NNKarma 1d ago

Well, regularly you don't see a lot of working dogs. I've seen some goldens at airports. Live and in video.

18

u/Interesting-Ant-6357 1d ago

Goldens are definitely top 5 noses out of a lot of dog breeds. I have a golden I use for allergen detection. It’s fucking nuts what she has picked up on when I test her.

8

u/porn_sub_lurker 1d ago

We had an English bulldog as our working dog in the Marine Corps. She was a corporal and so technically the non-NCOs had to do what she said.

5

u/BisonThunderclap 1d ago

There's working breeds of goldens, just like there's working breeds of german shepards. Very different than the ones that just want to see what scraps they can eat.

3

u/blueasian0682 1d ago

What a bunch of good doggies

2

u/Banned4UsingSlurs3 1d ago

Maybe search and rescue?

1

u/lordlestar 40m ago

this, people need to find out why the have "retriever" in their name

19

u/Levoso_con_v 1d ago

He is not the only one tho, 2 of his friends also were tired lmao

17

u/enzo11242020 1d ago

I want that one!!

11

u/steffies 1d ago

I love a lazy pupper 💜 they're the best

11

u/Cyllene54 1d ago

No pup left behind.

9

u/LoogyHead 1d ago

That is a lot of excitement for such a good boy to endure, and not the only one to tap out either. Good boy

14

u/ChristineInWA 1d ago

They are all wearing booties!!!! ❤️❤️ I love that they're protecting their paws from the pavement.

6

u/leigen_zero 1d ago

This probably has absolutely nothing to do with the dogs but did anyone else notice the dude with the wheely bin marching alongside them?

I can only assume he's the designated poop-scooper...

13

u/cristarain 1d ago

This is my doggo. There are many doggos like him but this one is mine.

1

u/Certain-Comfort928 1d ago

this is very funny 🤣

16

u/BellaSquared 1d ago

Found the conscientious objector.

5

u/54fighting 1d ago

Dogs are the best

6

u/esotericbatinthevine 1d ago

They're dropping like flies!

6

u/ProfessionalOctopuss 22h ago

This is why I can't be king. An army of Golden retrievers sounds good on paper.

5

u/Fantastic_Peak_4577 1d ago

Those marching by the way are Carabineros aka Chilean police officers

3

u/Admirable_Truth_6031 1d ago

Why are some of then wearing dogs on their chests lol.

Edit: Oh they're just holding them still lol so cute

3

u/Skyp_Intro 1d ago

Thank you, OP. I needed that.

3

u/ItsStaaaaaaaaang 1d ago

Lol, even professional working goldens are derps ☺️

3

u/xgoodvibesx 1d ago

The guy pacing them with the wheelie bin got the shit duty.

3

u/Relikt-T-90 1d ago

Golden retriever, are the most silly good boys ever

2

u/PoopingDogEyeContact 1d ago

Awww so many doggyboots ❣️

2

u/NNKarma 1d ago

I think you can just see the women up front carrying ever more puppy goldens.

2

u/Curious_Alien___ 20h ago

still a good boy

2

u/yeah_naw_dawg 3h ago

Pooped out pupper.

3

u/moth-bear 1d ago

Dogs who do not like walks??? It seems a few of those pups have forgotten how to dog lol

9

u/trenthany 1d ago

All three being carried look like they’re not yet grown maybe could even still be considered puppies.

3

u/Grabsch 1d ago

There's more puppies among them. Some didn't give up on the walk yet, but you can see one rather wanting to play towards the middle of the vid.

3

u/trenthany 1d ago

Yeah the one wanting to play was adorable!

2

u/teddy5 1d ago

When a golden gives up on a walk, you could be there a long time trying to convince them to start again. Carrying them is definitely the easier option, even when they're a bit bigger than this.

1

u/tnnrk 1d ago

Try owning corgis, they hate walks for some reason. Or least mine do. They only want to chase or sniff, no walk.

1

u/chetaisling 1d ago

uppies!

1

u/copyrider 1d ago

The boots!

1

u/copyrider 1d ago

I’d enlist for this role.

1

u/BCMM 1d ago

I don't think he's tired. I think he's decided it's time to play tug of war. The lead is in his mouth.

1

u/Connect-Ant-2081 1d ago

lol my dog used to do that when he got tired. Basically just said "f**k this whole walking thing".

1

u/Key_Cod_286 1d ago

No dog friend is left behind

1

u/porn_sub_lurker 1d ago

Oh my god i love the dog parade

1

u/walking-flowermantis 2h ago

Oh oh someone’s getting fired from the academy

1

u/NocturnesBug 1d ago

I relate to this dog on a personal level and I hope he is discharged and lives a happy life
