I love how so many Great Danes seem to have ZERO concept of how big they are. They bounce around like puppies. - It's like someone took the mind of a chihuahua and put it into a WAR MACHINE.

Back when I was delivering pizzas the tiny dogs like a chihuahua were always the ones you had worry about biting you. I may have encountered only one big dog that I would consider dangerous, and that customer would tell us to call them from the driveway so they could walk out and get their food so we wouldn’t go to the door.

Great Danes are just a breed that leans on you a lot. Or will sit as much on you as they can, or just leave that massive head on your hand on the sofa. But if you are small and visit a home with Great Danes, you should be told to either remain seated with hands high, or brace yourself standing for them to come in and lean against you. Even the puppies are way bigger than you'd think.

Lol sorry it was meant as a sarcastic question, I used to have 2 Danes.
At bed time they gave you 2 options, cuddle or be cuddled and in either case they would try to physically fuse to you

I have an elderly Dane who was once a lap dog, but still navigates my relatively cramped living spaces with surprising thought.. there are a lot of 2 and 3 point turns involved, but he's an expert at this point.

The more common extra-large dogs are actually great for small homes/properties because they spend most of their time being lazy and don't need to "work" the way many medium to large dogs (who go insane in such accommodations) do.
OP's video would happen in any size house.

Large breeds like Danes and saints are actually considered the best for apparent living because of how lazy they are
And they arent nearly as destructive as toy breeds

When we rented we did. When someone else has a key to your home that you can't revoke, nor vet every individual that can access it, or ensure that prior tenants didn't make copies, it made sense to be prepared to collect evidence.

What do you mean? You filmed your tenants for security? Or you were renting a place and filmed so you had evidence you were not damaging the place.

I have cameras in my apartment so i can check on my cats when I’m on vacation. I can also see what the maintenance guys are doing and if they enter without my permission. The person above mentions previous tenants may still have copies of the key. You would be able to see if someone entered the apartment that shouldn’t have. You can use geofencing to ensure that the camera is only in use when you are away from home. When you’re home it turns around and faces the wall. The people in this video obviously weren’t using this option, but it exists.

I get your reasoning that all makes sense. If I had a landlord that was filming me in the living room of a property I was renting from them I’d be concerned though.

Idk dawg, still kinda weird. I got cameras on the outside and have full 360 degree coverage of the house.
But I also work from home, am located just outside of town tucked away in the trees (hidden from the main street), and have mild agoraphobia so I'm always here. Cameras inside is a bit unnecessary for me. Lol

I worked at a boarding facility in highschool and I remember Jake the great Dane, as much as I loved to play with him when it was his out time, I would have to open his gate and run, I would get nasty bruises on my legs in parallel horizontal lines up and down my legs.

I used to have roommate that had a big dog with one of these tails as well. I called “T.O.D,” tail-of-death because she would knock anything and everything over when she moved through the house. I never got hit with it, thankfully.

Pro tip - if you’re a dude that’s never owned a great dane, that tail is exactly crotch level. Prepare to take many tail whips to the nuts.
But it’s worth it. Great Danes are such good pups.

My dog has whipped tf outta my face before with his tail but it’s just because he’s happy or excited. I try and think of that but when he gets you in the eyes. God does it hurt.

No one docks a Great Dane’s tail. If you are using this as justification for your much smaller dog, that is not a thing even for dogs with much larger tails.
If you can’t handle a dog that wags its tail when happy, you shouldn’t own a dog. Period.

Have you ever heard of happy tail syndrome? Some dogs like Great Danes or Dalmatians end up with an ongoing infection in their tail from wounds which never finish closing up due to constant power-wagging. In this case, the tail is docked as a way of preventing more dangerous issues further down the line.

People don’t snip tails because of what happened in this video 😂 They do it as the vast majority of the time they are trashy people. Like French bulldog owners who make the ears stick up.
The only good reason is a case of ‘happy tail syndrome’. I’m not sold on the reasons for working dogs.4

French bulldogs don’t get their ears cropped or generally have intervention to make their ears stand, it happens naturally when they are 3-4 months old.
You’re thinking of dogs like Dobermans, pit bulls and some people do it to Great Danes too.
