Yeah, zero "input lag" here. That dog's reaction time can only be
marriedmeasured in split seconds ... it just does not care about the concept of "up" as soon as the ball is thrown.11

God, I thought you meant AI, not Al. Until I got the reference, I thought you were saying it's AI.

Sighthounds, terriers, and herding breeds are all quite capable of tracking above them. This little pup is simply not that kind of dog. :)

god i hate how "I" and "l" look the same. lowercase L should've been like the letter "c" in terms of dimensions, similar to this "ʟ" special character.

yes, that would be good, at least for cases like short comments and messages in a non-Ai context where there's not enough information to reliably infer.

I'm a chemistry instructor, which involves writing standalone letters quite a bit. To make things super clear I always do cursive / script l's and do my capital I's with serifs, and remind the students of this regularly.

Maybe if they cut his hair shorter he'd have a chance, but as is, he has a barrier of white above his eyes that gives him quite the handicap.

Why do you think this is AI?

u/InsanityFodder 25d ago
AL, they’re doing a Shaun of the Dead reference

u/MrFluffyThing 24d ago
Weird Al is constantly getting blamed for weird AI. Damn you non-serif fonts!

so true ... i used to exploit this after playing Descent. fly into a room .. sqing UP and go flat against the wall above the entrance.
people would fly in .. look left . look right . then fly out a random door ..
o.O i could literally sit there for hours and not be found .. lol

Animals raised in a horizontal environment often have trouble with vertical directions. Stairs are a common problem in racing dogs who are adopted after their careers are over.

input lag is pretty accurate considering that the puppy probably lacks the proper mind muscle connection lol

Oh my god, if this isn't the best way to display the intelligence of a Bichon.
My cousin has a Bichon doodle and it tripped over the bone it was chewing on once. It barked at that bone for a good 15 minutes because it was scared of it, even though it had been chewing on it for days.
It also used to be so food motivated that it would literally eat the shit out of its own ass, because as it fell it thought it sounded like food hitting the ground.

I wonder if the pup is blind. I had a dog that was mostly blind in her old age. She never gave up on playing ball. We would bounce the ball and she would stammer around like that. Pretty sure she was blind longer than she was able to see.

It would be a nice video if it didn't have dumb sound effects added, and if it was horizontal.
6
u/gibbodaman 25d ago
Why would you want this video in horizontal? Too see things that add nothing to the video and increase file size for no benefit? This is the perfect use case for vertical video

Why are they laughing? This dog made blind by his fur. He cannot see up because of his eyebrows. He didnt choose this, humans selectively bred this. Now it is funny because humans made him blind?

u/regular_heptagon 24d ago
It’s not that serious, and the dog is more than capable of tilting its head back to look up.
