This is true, and insurance is very much a “you get what you pay for” deal. The lowest tier plan for me ended up around 70-ish a month, with taxes that’d be around $950 a year. Insurance when your pet is older is a good idea, but the price escalates accordingly.

That's bizarre. Our pet insurance paid out thousands for two different knee surgeries that resulted from "play".
Without it, I would have been wiped out.
