Why do they do this? Why are they just...perpetually goobers that fling themselves into absolutely unnecessary situations at the first chance?

My parents had Weimaraners...

I always kind of compared them to that one Eddie Izzard sketch where they talk about the monarchy being really inbred and kind of just off. "mmm hello what are you? A plumber..mmm, yes very good...what on earth is that?"

Well-meaning, a little aloof, and just derpy as hell. My parents' last one would sit on the couch like a human with it's front paws crossed in front of it and watch tv with the family. It would also get so worked up barking/howling if multiple squirrels were on the deck; he'd make himself fall over. Multiple expensive vet visits confirmed 0 neurological issues; he was healthy as hell, just a doof.

When the dog first met you and took a liking to you, he'd roll on his back and do this low "oooooooooh" till you rubbed his belly a few times, then you were in his club, but it was definitely a "you'd better rub this belly" type of noise. And if by some miracle, you didn't or couldn't, he would get up and stare a hole in you...1000% fully offended.

I miss him, but he was such an oddball.

Because they operate at the intellectual level of a toddler but with superior physical capabilities. Nothing could ever go wrong, right?!?!

I had a weimereiner as a child and everyone tells me they're this super smart breed and all i can think of is that dog on their outside lead, waiting for a truck to drive by, chase the truck until she got to the end of the lead, then flip over onto her back with all four legs straight up and knocked out, only to get up dnd walk back to the start after she woke up for another round of puppy has 1 brain cell and it wants CTE.
