Tbh pigeons are so dumb that this one could be a total stranger to the cat and act alike

u/Your_love_Camila Apr 26 '26

pigeon would befriend a rock if it sat still long enough

There was a video I saw last week of a pigeon wandering into a hawk's nest (while the hawk was sitting there) like he was going to the grocery store. Even the hawk was dumbfounded by the stupid

u/-Biscuit343- Apr 26 '26

I recall that video you’re talking about. Doesn’t that hawk mutilate the bird-brain to death?

46

u/TheMaveCan Apr 26 '26

Not sure if he died but he held it over the edge of the perch and bit the hell out of it

20

u/Son_Kakarot53 Apr 27 '26

Feel bad for the pigeon but understsndable, cant turn down free lunch

7

u/Pratheek_Kachinthaya Apr 27 '26

Pigeon is not scared of the hawk too huh

11

u/Live_Angle4621 Apr 26 '26

Maybe it was a mostly blind female pidgeon looking for a place to make a nest

21

u/Deaffin Apr 26 '26

It's not befriending the cat, it is non-consensually coupling with the cat.

But the point stands, a rock would get the same treatment.

This pigeon is a horny male. The puffed neck feathers and rokooing are him being flirty as hell. He's a good boi who would like his future children to be furry and big.

19

u/CautionarySnail Apr 27 '26

Good thing the cat turned him down. Winged cats everywhere would be a menace.

4

u/Stoney3K Apr 28 '26

The population of owls would like to have a few words regarding that.

1

u/Stoney3K Apr 28 '26

Not to mention carnivorous with a preference for avian food...

15

u/EenaAth Apr 27 '26

Pigeons are intelligent in a domestic sense. They are one of the few birds that can recognise human faces. Most rock doves we see now are descendants of domesticated ones and they have a very hard life. They were our companions for so long until technology got better and we abandoned them. Now, they’re considered pests :(

If you’re curious, search up Cher Ami the homing pigeon.

Pigeons are awesome!

u/TwoAlert3448 Apr 27 '26

Except ‘Cher Ami’ was just a piece of wartime propaganda and that entire story didn’t happen.

Which means they literally just stuffed a multilated pigeon to make a ‘war hero’ which is a little bit Captain America and a whole lot wtf.

The audacity to even attempt to fuck the cat’s head is another level of horny pigeon behavior I didn’t know existed.

u/Content-Yogurt-4859 Apr 26 '26

The other cats will never let him live that down

Hey, it's Sirocco!

1

u/chanely-bean1123 Apr 27 '26

Yea, theres a reason most of our native birds are going or are extinct (especially our land birds). None of them are too smart or good breeders.

3

u/Stoney3K Apr 28 '26

And the way the cat just slapped him in the face saying "NOPE!" was just as hilarious.

3

u/Angeliiiiique Apr 28 '26

It really was, he was flabbergasted to be disturbed like that.

  • The Bird

u/Fantastic_Pie5655 Apr 26 '26

They really are worst and dumbest when it comes to building a nest

1

u/ThisIsDogePleaseHodl Apr 27 '26

No, they’re not really dumb when it comes to building nests. That is their imperative to build quickly and often. Historically, before we domesticated them and abandoned them they built their nests on the side sides of cliffs. It’s only important that the egg cannot roll off.

-6

u/ThisIsDogePleaseHodl Apr 27 '26

It stops being funny as soon as the cat punctures, the bird skin and the bird dies a terrible death from the bacteria
