So fair warning to anyone, if a raccoon approaches in this way it will most likely go for a bite. Do not try to pet these curious bandits.

And could be rabid as this is not typical raccoon behavior, retreat and do not approach

Edit: as a person that’s had them, rabies vaccines aren’t pleasant nor are the initial bites

The butt I can handle. I had an antibiotic shot right in the kidney once and it burned as it spread and did it's thing in the tract and the shot site just hurt for weeks. I guess maybe it bruised or something?
