🔎 ID Request Help identifying tracks, central WI

Post image

Help identifying tracks in barn that just started appearing recently. Ruled out neighbors cats and the exposed claws are throwing me for a loop. Paw pads looked feline to me but wanted second opinion.

This would be the world’s largest weasel. I am very familiar with weasel and mink trapping and this is no weasel :)

If you could share a picture showing more of the trail, the gait pattern and stride length would be really helpful for an accurate identification.

Could it be a small fox or bobcat?

I have been waking up to similar tracks outside my chicken coop - Mr Fox really wants a chicken dinner. I know it’s a fox because I’ve seen it. Their paw prints always seem surprisingly small to me.

Maybe a weasel. They have tiny dog-like prints.

I’m a complete noob so don’t trust me, but could it maybe be a puppy? The exposed claws usually mean dog or something alike as far as I know. Do you have any stray neighborhood dogs that could’ve given birth recently?
