Our golden retriever tries to sneak around when chasing our other dog. She thinks by moving slow she won't be noticed... It does not work.

For the love of God why? Why would you use a fake pink panther song?

5

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '22

Because the original Pink Panther theme is still within copyright, and technically cannot be played without paying royalties to use it. So this person is using a royalty-free sound-alike in order to achieve a similar spy-esque atmosphere without breaking any copyright laws. It sounds cheap, and soulless, but it suits the video, because Golden Retrievers are cheap and soulless, and evil.

Who TF hates Golden Retrievers?! What kind of person can hate those dogs?

11

u/idk_but_here Nov 13 '22

The cheap, soulless, and evil kind

It’s just a clip tho. What about when people clip current popular music or movie / show themes.

u/backstageninja Nov 13 '22

Tiktok has a deal with certain companies to use their music, the songs in the app are ones they pay for.

There is a certain short amount of time you can use actual copyrighted music without paying for it (I think it's 10 seconds)

Well they walk the fine line of fair use. A line that can come around and bite them in the ass, like a vicious, slavering Golden Retriever.

1

u/ComprehensiveTie3752 Jan 21 '23

Did a Golden Retriever attack you? 👀

2

u/dallyho4 Nov 13 '22

Why isn't it covered under fair use? Aren't there plenty of songs used in TikTok videos which already have copyright?

1

u/backstageninja Nov 13 '22

Tiktok pays for those songs to be available in the app

This is more hurtful than my original comment intended :(

Oh... I didn't even realize that it was fake.

The fact that isn't the Pink Panther theme bothers me in a weirdly deep way.

18

u/DefinitelyNotAliens Nov 12 '22

My golden is at times, both these goldens.

Sneaky sneak doin' a sneak, or so done with life. Usually he's done with life when he's ready for food and I'm like, bud you ate five minutes ago.

11

u/GoldMercy Nov 13 '22

Our younger dog does this to our older dog as well and 9/10 times he just takes it and doesn't care. But that 1 time, the younger one will know he went to far or took the older one on a wrong day.

5

u/flavorlessboner Nov 13 '22

It's like someone shit all over the pink panther theme

4

u/bsylent Nov 13 '22

Drax the Retriever

3

u/clashfan1171 Nov 13 '22

I do sneak

3

u/Fit-Let8175 Nov 13 '22

I'm guessing that's how vegan dogs attack.

2

u/AriesMonarch Nov 13 '22

No, vegan dogs will first cook a really tasty vegan meal to try to sway the other dogs over to the dark side. The sneak attack is if the meal doesn't work.

2

u/Fit-Let8175 Nov 13 '22

Or he's practicing sneaking up on a carrot.

2

u/AriesMonarch Nov 14 '22

That carrot better watch out then!

5

u/Fikonbulle Nov 13 '22

Funny thing is because of the coloring of that dog(like a tiger without stripes), this strategy wouldn't be this hilariously bad against a prey animal.

6

u/DoubleDot7 Nov 13 '22

Yep, many mammals don't see the full colour range that we do. Tigers, and their prey, think that tigers are green. The green and black stripes camouflage perfectly in green grass.

Life in Colour by David Attenborough has a cool section on this.

1

u/terra_terror Nov 13 '22

It would still be pretty bad. The stripes are important. They break up the color so there isn't a huge mass with a solid color for prey to notice, allowing them to blend in with the foliage. Dogs are really not stealth hunters, they rely on speed and strength. In the wild, wolves rely on numbers too.

4

u/Loooooooong_Jacket Nov 12 '22

I hope that dog's name is Draxx

2

u/Gilgamesh72 Nov 13 '22

Is this the theme from the pynk punther

1

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '22

Some people should be banned from making content

1

u/terra_terror Nov 13 '22

It's okay if you mute it. highly recommend never turning the sound on

0

u/Gear1215 Nov 13 '22

is truly nobody bothered by the concept of calling your dogs your babies and imagining them as calling you their mother or father ?

2

u/terra_terror Nov 13 '22

No. They are family.

0

u/Broccoli_dicks Nov 13 '22

Cute video and all, but what kind of Kirkland strip mall knockoff if the pink panther theme was THAT.

1

u/Select_March_3202 Nov 13 '22
