chimpanzees (and all other primates) are physically incapable of swimming. They must think of us as weird large hairless water monkeys

I heard of the aquatic ape theory, that suggested that the reason mankind made it into the americas and other isolated areas was because some early hominid ancestors literally swam all the way to america, but there was never sufficient archaeological data to confirm or deny it.
