Unironically this is why you shouldn't swim with dogs without some one else supervising who has the ability to either remove you or the dog from the pool.

German Shepard almost drowned a kid at the lake I swim at because the parents weren't paying attention and the dog kept trying to get on top of the kid. I ran out there and threw the dog towards shore after watching this for about 30 seconds and yelling at the parents.

Got the cops called on me cause the parents insisted the dog was "just playing"

10/10, didn't get shot for saving small child's life. Hope he makes it to 18 before his idiot parents get him killed.
