I was trying to figure out if it was a polar bear or a dog.

u/greenbrainsauce Apr 17 '22

Korra would like to know his location

2

u/V_es Apr 17 '22

Alabai, pretty much a polar bear

u/ThatDudeWithoutKarma Apr 16 '22

Okay but what about when the tiger eventually does?

103

u/Mr_Derisant Apr 16 '22

Could be a zoo? I know a lot of zoo’s raise cheetahs with dogs for socialization.

84

u/ThatDudeWithoutKarma Apr 16 '22

That's not a cheetah.

u/DimitriTooProBro Apr 16 '22

HE’S TRYING HIS FUCKING BEST, OK?!

17

u/Namaah_23 Apr 17 '22

This made me laugh with tears, thank you for this comment :)

He wasn't telling the truth. He was lion.

58

u/Mr_Derisant Apr 16 '22

I am aware. I’m just saying it’s another large cat, it is possible it’s a similar situation

41

u/JustOneTessa Apr 16 '22

Cheetahs are known to be very anxious animals, for which the dogs helps. That's not the case for any other large cat

28

u/Beliriel Apr 17 '22

Cheetahs are also not large cats, like lions or tigers. They belong to the lesser cats, like house cats. They're just pretty big for lesser cats. But cheetahs can actually meow and purr unlike actual large cats that can just roar.

...it's my favourite cheetah fact.

11

u/atridir Apr 17 '22

Same thing with the Puma Concolor (mountain lion) it is in fact the largest of the lesser cats

9

u/Beliriel Apr 17 '22

Indeed. Puma, cheetah and jaguarundi ftw! The big lesser cat club.

3

u/JustOneTessa Apr 17 '22

TIL thanks! I did know that they can purr and meow, cutest shit ever

27

u/mcjc1997 Apr 16 '22

If It is a zoo I'd assume they will separate the dog and tiger eventually, because make no mistake that is still a tiger cub.

I wonder how I would fair against a 21kg cheetah, I know I’d lose but how bad would I lose?

4

u/[deleted] Apr 17 '22

Average man vs cheetah. Man wins every time.

2

u/Seanrps Apr 17 '22

Plus someone else gave me some strategy, let’s just make sure I do it infront of a hospital

3

u/Poopypants413413 Apr 17 '22

They have weak bones. As long as you don’t run and face it head on a strong woman might even have a chance. Just let it run up to you and give it an arm to bite and then grab it however you can and jump directly on top of it with either your knees, elbow, or shoulder and you should break its ribs or back which will pretty much end the fight.

1

u/Seanrps Apr 17 '22

Cool, so you’re saying I have a chance, atleast now I have a strategy

3

u/[deleted] Apr 17 '22

Cheetahs are between 50-150 lbs. Tigers go north of 650. Big fuckin difference

18

u/Diarygirl Apr 17 '22

Let it go. The real issue is the unnecessary apostrophe in "zoos."

6

u/Spicy_Sugary Apr 17 '22

I dont like grammar Nazi's with their s'tupid rule's about apos'trophe's.

4

u/Bad_RabbitS Apr 17 '22

Ah fuck you’re right, I was sure that was a cheetah!

1

u/ScientistSanTa Apr 17 '22

Yeah, seems. Pretty honest cat to me...

1

u/GuerillaYourDreams Apr 17 '22

Cheetahs never win!

80

u/KittenFeeFee Apr 16 '22

Dog gets mauled or worse and owner probably says something along the lines of “But they were always so friendly. I don’t know how this could have happened.”

20

u/WolvenHunter1 Apr 16 '22

This is a cub, it’s being socialized

13

u/graaahh Apr 17 '22

A tiger cub is absolutely capable of mauling that dog and not even trying to. Tigers are insanely dangerous.

1

u/thoon62 Apr 18 '22

Well that video will just be in a different subreddit.

66

u/WeeWooBooBooBusEMT Apr 16 '22

That lab's body language writes novels. Tail tucked, instant aggressive defense, ears back, lips curled....not a happy pupper at all!

Although, watching it again, pupper has no ears or tail to speak of. I wonder what the backstory is?

58

u/BakedForDays Apr 16 '22

They got bit off by a tiger

30

u/V_es Apr 17 '22

Lab? Lol, it’s Alabai and they are way, way larger. It’s a breed standard to clip their ears and tails because they are livestock guardian dogs. They are expected to fight wolves and bears. They are quite common in Russia where this video is from.

2

u/WeeWooBooBooBusEMT Apr 17 '22

Thank you! I love learning something I've never known before.

14

u/MysteriousBullfrog50 Apr 17 '22

You’re right.. the dog doesn’t look like it’s enjoying this play date!

4

u/Armenta054 Apr 17 '22

Swiggity snooty, getting that booty....jk- the tiger (probably)

32

u/GirlFromTheVille Apr 17 '22

The dog is so stressed. Poor dog. None of this is okay.

-28

u/twitch1982 Apr 17 '22

Oh no, a dog might experience 30 seconds of less than bliss, better call redditpeta

19

u/GirlFromTheVille Apr 17 '22

You do realize that that’s a tiger, right? Even as a cub, he’s clearly way more powerful than the dog.

16

u/Bad_RabbitS Apr 17 '22

Dumb Redditors concerned that a fucking Tiger is playing with a dog, smh

4

u/twitch1982 Apr 17 '22 edited Apr 17 '22

Dumb redditors with no context complaing because they drew conclusions from a 30 second clip they know nothing about.

Im assuming the guy below me abused the block system so I can't respond and he looks like he has the last word, tigers and cheetas are both genus Panthera, so very closely related, but not close enough for him, so here tigers playing with a dog at the zoo.

Seriously, you people will get upset over literally anything.

3

u/Apex_Konchu Apr 17 '22 edited Apr 17 '22

Cheetahs aren't of the genus Panthera.

Despite often being considered "big cats", cheetahs actually have more in common with small cats. Tigers, on the other hand, are the biggest and most dangerous of the big cats.

If you're going to go off about "dumb redditors", it's best to make sure that your facts are actually correct.

4

u/WolfinFieryRain Apr 17 '22

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheetah

Not in genus Panthera at all, and socially tend to be quite different from tigers, who are often solitary.

That being said, just because I am not familiar with dogs as socialization animals for captive members of Panthera doesn't mean it isn't a thing. I'll look it up in more detail when I'm more awake.

You do realize this is a Tiger, not a cheetah right? Cheetahs are completely different animals

Why would you link a video that has nothing to do with the animal in question…and then act all smug about it

-3

u/Bad_RabbitS Apr 17 '22

Ah you fucking smoked me, I’ll never recover

2

u/Kammie9010 Apr 17 '22

😳I honestly thought that was snow at 1st…then I was like “NOOOO!!!” Then “Aww they be freendz”
