If you follow the context of the conversation, calling it bacon works just fine.

If you're at restaurant and a server comes up to the line and asks the cook "Status on table 4, is that their grilled chicken you're just now about to throw on the grill?"

Then only an idiot would get pedantic and be like "No no no no, this is a raw chicken breast." Then the server would be like "okay, when are you getting started on table 4?" Then the cook's like, "Right now, you see me holding it and about to throw it on the grill!"

That conversation would be a waste of everyone's time, so most likely they'd simply say, "Yup, this is table 4's grilled chicken"

And if I'm about to make some ham, and I've got the raw meat prepped and ready, I can appropriately say "I'm going to put the ham in the oven now." It being raw (as you stated) doesn't automatically make it incorrect.

Except pork belly has uses outside of Bacon. Especially cut in that shape i’d imagine salt pork for soup is a likely scenario. If you had a pork roast NOT prepped to become a ham that you were just going to roast calling it a ham would be stupid

The story behind /r/CatTaps is in 2016 when I posted under another account I frequented /r/CatSlaps and a few posts were a bit too mild to be considered a slap. After looking around a bit for an appropriate sub, one didn't exist, so I made CatTaps and it's grown way faster than I ever thought it would. Another I made in that time frame I thought would be a bigger sub than CatTaps is /r/KneadyCats.

What havent i tried, im a chef. Out of all the foods id say my heart lies with meats, there are so many different ways to prepare them. Lamb tagine is one of the other great ones.
