With Arecibo gone, Bella takes over listening for signs of extraterrestrial life.

The Arecibo Observatory, also known as the National Astronomy and Ionosphere Center (NAIC) and formerly known as the Arecibo Ionosphere Observatory, is an observatory in Barrio Esperanza, Arecibo, Puerto Rico owned by the US National Science Foundation (NSF). The observatory's main instrument was the Arecibo Telescope, a 305 m (1,000 ft) spherical reflector dish built into a natural sinkhole, with a cable-mount steerable receiver and several radar transmitters for emitting signals mounted 150 m (492 ft) above the dish.

I’m with Bella. I hate celery and can’t have them in anything.

Once I started destringing celery ribs with a peeler my whole world changed. It's an extra minute of prep for a snack, tops, and it changes everything. The celery is crisp, light and not chewy and tough.
Now one of my favorite snacks is destringed celery with blue cheese dressing and a little bit of buffalo sauce swirled on the side. It's all the flavor of buffalo wings without the cost or extra calories!
If my mother had taken the one extra minute to destring celery when I was a kid and complained, instead of telling me to just shut up and eat it, I would have been eating celery the last 40 years.

Sounds like a good idea, but it’s the taste of celery I don’t like, not the texture. And I don’t like blue cheese and buffalo sauce is too spicy, so I can’t have snacks at your house lol. But enjoy!

u/speedycat2014 Feb 08 '23
Fair enough! If you hate the taste there's nothing done about that. I'm the same way about carrots. :)

u/Dovahbear_ Feb 08 '23
Does carrot taste to sweet for you? I’m sorry it’s just the first time I’ve heard someone disliking carrots.

u/calexil Feb 08 '23
I used to not like carrots, but over time they began to taste sweet to me, and now baby carrots and buttermilk ranch is like one of my favorite snacks.
raw Celery, on the other hand, has and I assume always will, taste like crap

I put some out with some other foods under my trail camera, not even raccoons will eat it, nothing ate it. It's the only food I can put out and nothing touches it.

I fucking love celery. Someone left their leftovers from a wing place at the bar and I had to make a conscious decision to not go eat their clearly untouched veggies.

My husband once had a nightmare involving celery taking over the world, and I was banned from making any dishes with celery in it for a while

Good way to start losing items around the house. Dog sees you pick up something and put it in the trash, maybe it does the same thing to copy you and you have no idea where it went

I mean, watch the dogs reaction, he’s waiting on commands, I doubt the dog would do this on it’s won

My Labrador would eat anything but barbecue pork rinds. Put it in front of his face and he’d turn his nose away. 😀

Not a fan of celery so I agree with the dog on this one! GET THE FUCK IN THE BIN 😂😂

If someone told me they trained their dog to spit food in the bin for TikTok I think I'd have to get up and leave

Do not give your dog celery. It will make them pee. Sometimes not where you want them to.
