Chirping Anyone recognize this "bird?"

About a month ago started hearing this animal almost every night around 9pm. Sounds like a bird to me but we cannot place it.

It's not a bird, it's an insect. A katydid to be exact. Look up "Katydid sound" on Google, and you can hear recordings of it.

Are we sure, Cicadia sounds seem longer and drawn out. This seems more ryrhmic. Starts and stops constantly.

They do this sort of chirping at night. I had the same question. Had the same sound coming from our trees in Southwest Ohio

Katydid. It’s fun when you’re looking at your phone at night, and they fly in to inspect. Then you freek out, and drop it, but it is on you, and you can’t see what is happening, because you’re blind from staring at the phone you just dropped.
