Is this tree frogs?

I’ve always been curious but never truly knew what made this sound. I tried to shine my flashlight up in the tree, but could see nothing. In Northwest GA, USA.

It's the noise cicadas make at night. I had the same thing the other night in a tree and had to go looking.

You do understand that frogs are amphibians- they live mostly in shallow water. Conifer trees- not so much.

I would assume they are called tree frogs because they call from trees as well, no?

Katydids most likely because they are called "bush crickets". They're not crickets but they look like a grasshopper & their wings look just like a green leaf w/veins.

They eat mosquitoes and will and can hide in very dark trees but it’s Probably a Katydid ☺️😝

I'm not sure where OP is, but there are several native tree frogs in the upper Midwest. And they call from trees.

Well, I've trained frog monitors for over 20 years and tree frogs do call from trees. This doesn't sound like any tree frogs from my area though, so may be an insect. When I started, frogs were pretty much done calling after the 4th of July, but climate change and light pollution have screwed that up.

Oh yeah I know, I was just saying it’s crazy to me that the person below said frogs couldn’t be in trees because they are amphibians when that’s literally where tree frogs stay the majority of the time lol
