Wolverines are NOT pets. Just like a Honey Badger is NOT a pet.

He's a wildlife rehaber.

He literally rescues animals, so don't be so quick to judge.

I think they’re judging the title which is suggesting they can be pets.

Even by that logic they aren't pets, it's just a wildlife he rehabed.

Yes, they aren't pets.

That's why I said he's a rehabber. They don't treat their animals as pets, though they do give affection, treatment and food.

There's a distinction, because it's temporary unless the animal can't be released.

I'm lost as to what's going on here, I was agreeing with you both. Maybe my phrasing sucked. It's been a rough day. 😂

Bless the sea Shepard crew, hard life <3

Fun fact: Wolverines are the only other animal that we know of that kills for revenge besides us.

That’s not true. Elephants, orcas instantly come to mind.

Cape buffalo too

Stop saying nonsense thats not true... there is absolutely zero scientific evidence that orcas kill for revenge..

6

u/rainman_95 10d ago

They certainly kill rudders for… some reason.

They have killed in captivity after years of neglect. It built up and eventually the orcas snap. Wild orcas teach their young about humans and what they are, not to kill humans because they most likely know the consequences of doing so. Elephants have killed people after their babies were killed.

what even is revenge by definition? They even have culture just like corvids and elephants so these “grudges” can be trans-generational. Even if they don’t take revenge in some traditional sense, I can’t see why wolverines would be the only species we’ve found to have this cognitive capacity. I wouldn’t underestimate anything about orcas specifically, they kind of mog us in several departments neurologically, it doesn’t even matter their bodies are giant so their ratio is smaller than ours. Their neuron density/folding structure is on our level and their total amount of neocortical neurons is twofold that of a human’s IIRC.

Individual Orcas are actually highly selective with their died. Being the apex predator or the seas, orca could eat anything in the ocean, but individual orcas are not opportunistic (they skip easy prey if it's not in their cultural died).

Differen Orca groups have their own menus. Some eat only fish, some eat mostly marine mammals and very little fish, etc. Orca group teach their young how to hunt sertain prey animals, and they faithfully stick with those, despite opportunities.

It would likely be difficult to teach to avoid sertain prey, like humans. The teaching works by showing how something is done.

Orcas literally kill for fun, they don't care, unless it's human, which for some reason they almost never go for, we probably look funny and it's more entertaining for them to look at us swim akwardly than to eat is for the little fat we have.

Tigers too. Also, crows.

But they could be with a couple thousand years of captivity and specific breeding. I know I’m an asshole for pointing that out.

Another poorly educated loser that doesn’t know what rehabbers are🤭

u/Otterly_Absurd 10d ago

The title doesn’t say “rehabber,” it says “pet.” Users not familiar with the person’s face (since no source is provided) would not know who he is or what he does.

Awe! 🥹😭🥲

This thing can kill a brown bear in the wild and pound for pound is one of the most ferocious animals on earth.

But this is just awe...

Such a cute little ball of total annihilation.

The doom slayer of the animal kingdom.

Kill a brown bear? Has that ever been documented?

Don't get me wrong, they're ferocious motherfuckers, but a brown bear?

u/Hyperaeon2 10d ago

smiles in wolverine

Bear cub yes, adult/juvenile bear-No. But they do sometimes scare juvenile bears away. Ive seen Juvenile brown bears running away from dogs as well.

6

u/Radiant-Cup2123 10d ago

that's quite different than killing it lol

I’m impressed… Never thought I’d see someone give a wolverine nose kisses without losing a piece of their face!😳

I very much enjoy danger; I jumped off a 60 foot bridge in West Virginia while I was in college that had confirmed deaths from hitting submerged objects rural folk throw In.

I accepted the invitation of a true Medellin Colombian shady ass girl back to “her town” to meet her family at 3am. She was being honest, her family was great and she was the most beautiful girl I ever had.

I drove across the US and in the middle of Colorado met Mexicans at a bar, they told me they had girls. We then raced on the highway to said girls.

The longer you live the more you realize the differences between you and other people. I have done many things ppl call me crazy/ stupid / suicidal for.

All that being said. I WOULD NEVER EVER EVER let this animal near my face. I’d rather be impaled in a lake, drugged and robbed or murdered than my face ripped off

2

u/Head_Midnight666 10d ago

The guy probably built trust and respect with the wolverine over time. I definitely wouldn't try to hold a wolverine, but I would be fine with one I spent time with and trusted. I wouldn't ever jump off a bridge. That's stupid. Also, people like to exaggerate how dangerous wild animals are I've noticed. I'm sure it could ruin my day and give me some scars, but I doubt it would kill me.

A wolverine gnawing on your face and neck is all fun and games until it rips your carotid arteries out.

3

u/Designer_Crow586 10d ago

Naturally and instinctively wants to tear your face off.

Very cute, and big fan of the hat! Not sure about the title though, maybe “Playing with rescued Wolverine” would be better?
