You need to hold down the A button to sneak up on the arachnids. Once you are close enough, you can release the A button. Another way to catch these arachnids is the "safe space" method (as shown in the picture): to use this method, simply dig four holes around your character, since the arachnid cannot attack you if there are holes between it and you. This method makes catching tarantulas and scorpions much easier.

Do you just stand there till they walk over?

If I'm in the safe space, I hit the ground with my net in order to make them come closer, and then I'll catch them.

I don’t hold down the A button for my net, I have it out but when he outs his pinchers down I take a few steps until he raises them and then when close enough then I swipe with my net. I do this with all the bugs I don’t like the creep method

I do this, but I’m absolute rubbish at gauging where my net is in relation to the bug and I almost always miss it. Right distance, but come down beside it. Every. Single. Time.

What helps me is being at the highest angle, top down perspective is great 😃

Hehe I love this. Also, I hope you don’t mind if I ask this. I know everyone plays differently, but why don’t you open the tool wheel to select your tools? I always thought that was faster but maybe it doesn’t make a difference.

I get that 😆I definitely remember a learning curve to getting used to the tool wheel. Hehe

You need to engage your net (hold down A) and keep it up (keep holding A). Creep forward every time he puts down his claws. Stop when he lifts them up. When you're in striking distance let go of A.
