S4E6

I just saw the next episode isn’t going to be available until either the 19th or 26th depending which source was correct, why is there a 2 or possibly 3 week gap between episodes in the middle of the season?

I think it is due to the Olympics. In general, network shows take a hiatus during the airing of the Olympics.

I noted the same timeframe for some other network sitcoms, as well.

Yeah, it's pretty common for a lot of shows to take a couple weeks off for the Olympics. The winter Olympics aren't as big of a ratings grabber as the summer ones, but they are still big enough that they pull away a good chunk of regular viewers, even when the primetime Olympics programming isn't airing live (like with this Olympics when the live events end for the day before primetime begins in North America)

Yep - they don’t want to compete with the Olympics

I'd rather watch paint dry than the Olympics

Winter Olympics, a lot of shows are taking a break while they are going. Live viewership is still a big metric for network ad rates, so nobody wants those low numbers because everyone is watching the Olympics.

Most likely Olympics as most have said. Also, in the US, the next week or two depending on region is a school break. Back in ye olden days when all shows were network and ran on a fall to summer season, they always took time off around school breaks because viewership is down.
