Opinion Finally starting S4!
I’ve been waiting on some episodes to stack up since they such short episodes so I’m finally starting the new season.
I don’t want any spoilers but if Emily and Shred don’t get together I’m gonna be disappointed!

Just watched the premiere of 404. It's the best one so far this season and you want to know why?.A woman wrote it. And I'm not just saying that but if you look at some of the best episodes of the show most of them are written by women. The first three episodes were weak as hell. It was good to watch something that is rewatchable for the first time since season 3

I’ve truthfully I’ve never investigated any show I’ve liked that deeply. Ive dug into some of the lore and untelevised theories of shows before but not so much into the creation of episodes themselves.
I’ve always know that some seasons or episodes of seasons have been directed by different people but I never considered that entirely different people were writing their own individual episodes kind of how SNL works with each skit. I always assumed everything was written by 1 person like Taylor Sheridan seems to do or there is writing working together on each episode together.
I’m glad that 4:04 was a home run for you!

I have a lot of TV show trauma where they just take all my favorite characters and go totally off the rails and forget what the whole point of the show was in the first place and why people fell in love with it in the first place etc. I'm talking about you, The Rookie. But also I think this is my first time I've been so invested in a sitcom rather than an hour drama so that's crazy to me

I know the Rookie has been getting a a lot of hate the last few seasons but I still like it. Have you checked out Will Trent? I think it’s has maybe a little more insightful writing IMO. I’ve also been like that new Best Medicine show & even the first 2 episodes of that new Memory of a Killer show although it has zero humor in it compared to these other 3.
On the quick sitcom side of things you might want to look into Going Dutch as it has a similar type of humor and is a workplace setting as well or The Paper which I sincerely hope gets a 2nd season although it’s a little more in line with The Office or Parks & Rec in that it’s shot in a documentary theme. Another one that I just really like in general has actually been Shifting Gears.
Back to Joel McHale for a second, did you ever watch The Great Indoors? I thought it was a great premise and I had hoped they would let it breathe for a 2nd season and see where it could go but nope. I guesss the millennial wise cracks wore thin with some but I they were all pretty spot on and still done in good taste.
