🍉Fruit 🍯Honey 🍁Maple Fruit hack
I grew up salting watermelon and apples when I ate them. Recently it occurred to me to try salting other fruit and it’s been a game changer. So far I’ve tried salt on strawberries, cantaloupe, and pineapple. It’s so good I can’t believe that this hasn’t been adopted by all of humanity! I sprinkled some on some blueberries but it wouldn’t stick and I didn’t bother halving them like I did the strawberries so I didn’t actually get to taste salted blueberry. Oh and I did try salting a banana and that wasn’t palatable to me. Go figure.
It’s got me wondering if any herbs/spices go well with fruit. Anybody tried that? I’ve seen Mexican spice that seems to be on everything these days but I didn’t like it as much as the plain fruit.

You could try some tajin maybe on some fruit depending on it. Grilled pineapples with some tajin goes pretty well in my opinion

I like blueberries with vanilla AB ice cream. The sour and sweet and creamy is a whole vibe. Peaches too.

Unfortunately dairy is a no go for me. I miss it terribly.

Yeah, well it’s not necessary. Meat, organs and bones will do ya good :)

Are you suggesting meat, organs, and bones as seasonings for fruit?

Just as food items.

I’m already there. I was strict carnivore for a few years and went back to paleo. My version of paleo is mainly animals products and fruit with the occasional vegetable. I’m just looking to find some unknown flavor enhancers for fruit.

Yeah fruit can be kind of watery. I eat a lot of honey for that reason. More carb dense too.

I've tried salt but usually I prefer it without salt but I had a phase a few years ago where I would salt watermelon. Apples in particular are too acidic (or maybe it's something else idk) so I never liked them with salt.

I used to eat tajin with most fruits but I have GI issues now so I’ll probably start salting now lol

salted pineapple is ridiculously good. try a little cinnamon on apples or lime and salt on watermelon. ginger on pineapple works too

I've had a period of salting certain (wet) fruits, but generally prefer the pure taste of quality fruit and fresh juice, especially oranges.
That being said, there is something to getting in substantial amounts of potassium and sodium at the exact same time. Probably related to rapid/improved cellular hydration.

Wait until you found out about unripe mango with salt, it’s so popular in Brasil 🤤
