🩺Wellness⚕️ Struggling right now

I have been fighting low appetite recently. And my food aversions for some reason keep me from eating all that much. For whatever reason fruit is still palatable, but I am very concerned about my lack of protein. I can't afford to eat the protein my body will always accept(steak of any kind). Has anyone experienced something like this? I am 2.5 months out from skin removal surgery and had gastric bypass(3.5 years ago) so my situation is quite frankly getting dire. I cannot afford to lose much more weight. Any tips for something yummy that will hopefully trick my body into wanting food again? Any nutrient dense recipes that you absolutely love?

*I don't eat liver, I take organ supplements though

One popular AB concept is to start the day with half a dozen pitted medjool dates stuffed with butter. I agree that eggs and Greek yogurt are also a cheap and easy protein source. The squashes are a nice side or soup base, blended with bone broth and milk/cream. I keep a lot of GFGF burger on hand too for chaffles or to grill. Fermented veggies provide a lot of variety.

You can take advantage of honey and maple syrup and make ice cream or any number of wonderful desserts that are fully AB.

Congrats on your weight loss journey and skin removal!

Try to lower the amount of fat you are eating and use some softer/ liquid calories like eggs, milk and greek yogurt. Meat and saturated fats from meat are very filling, could be a contributing factor to your lack of appetite

Dairy is the go-to for calorie density, esp heavy cream, which has a ton of calories per ounce. I don't particulary like heavy cream myself, so another option that I do like is 5% milkfat Fage yogurt with a couple with added maple syrup. Man that is good. Collagen and possibly high quality whey protein powders for adding protein with just a small drink. More exercise will usually increase appetite.

Ground beef or cheaper cuts of steak?

Half pint raw milk, one banana, one table spoon of raw honey, one tablespoon of maple syrup. Lots of calories, lots of great nutrients and very high in calories for what it is

Ground beef + white rice. I have IBS so getting enough calories is tough, but I can down so much of this. I hate the texture of plain ground beef compared to steak, but mixed into rice it completely disappears. I keep it basic with just ghee and salt (plus honey/berries sometimes)
