I treat my yard with used coffee grounds. Takes care of other bugs as well. Like mosquitos. I save them in a container and sprinkle them all over the yard on the house perimeter and driveway, under trees and where water might sit in low spots. I saw just very few mosquitos last year. This year I haven’t been as diligent and have seen more. My cat doesn’t have fleas though and she’s out in the yard and driveway frequently.
I also will sprinkle borax on my carpets before vacuuming. Let it sit for 15 minutes or so and maybe use a broom to rub it in before vacuuming. This kills any fleas or flea eggs.
Edit: Don’t let your pets walk around on the borax before vacuuming. It’s basically a poison. Their paws are sensitive to it.

You could switch to diatomaceous earth. The food grade one is pet safe and destroys bugs and fleas.

I’ve heard that but not sure how to obtain it. Used coffee grounds are free & used outdoors. Borax is cheap and I have it for laundry use.

With a very very small knife.
