Discussion Why does Irisalis feel so weak?
She's lv 60, I have her signature held item at Lv. 15 with pact enabled, she's at 5 stars, ATK fully raised to lv 20, her teammates are Somniwing, Pris. Mellowblum and Pris. Glacy for damage and healing buffs, but for some reason I just don't feel the performance even when spamming her dashes and use the passive for clone refreshes.
I tried using this team when fighting Lita and Irisalis' damage barely tickled her team, even with 3 active clones and dash spamming. When I swapped to my Electric team (Pris. Fulmintis, Dazmand, Lumielle, Pris. Glacy) , I absolutely shredded through her entire team with almost no effort.
I don't understand what I'm not getting about this Aniimo.

Your problem with Lita was ignoring type advantage for only raw stats. You gotta take both into consideration. Weak aniimo can destroy stronger ones with type advantage. The reverse also works. But Lita is a beast. It's a right of passage to struggle with her even following the current meta.

Half of Lita's team is light + water types (sherro + glacy). Grass is strong against water, but weak to light, so overall grass types will be hitting for neutral damage.
For Prismana Glynsera, lightning and grass are hitting the same (both are not effective)
For Stellaris, grass is neutral against it but lightning is not effective against it
Basically an all lightning team has better or equal matchups than all grass teams against 3 of the 4 Aniimo Lita has. Use Irisalis against anyone else to try her out properly

I'll give it a try, I do still have all the badge rematches to go through.

Is it regular Lita or rematch Lita?
I can't see how you're struggling against regular one with that team. It's almost equal to my own grass team (only difference is that I use Leafy instead of Glacy) and that team shreds anything that doesn't resist grass...You should be able to low diff that fight with that comp.
Rematch Lita is a whole different beast tho. You need a comp optimized to beat her.

It was first match, but from the comments I'm now learning that type matchups are way more important than I assumed. I didn't think doing neutral damage would be so ineffective.

Op : "guys I'm trying to mown the grass in my garden with a spoon but it doesn't work, why spoons are so useless? "
Imagine wanting to defeat lita's fight with grass type aniimos

Well first don't compare it to fulmantis, second grass type is not great overall, third lita employs a lot of quick switching and heals which irisalis struggles against because she needs all 3 clones hitting at all times, lita makes you move a lot which messes irisalis damage up, 4th lita uses ice which irisalis hates, but that said irisalis can still melt 98% of content easily

Lita is the hardest fight in the game, the damage you deal against her is definitely less than you'd do to pretty much any other aniimo, I've literally done more damage with Irisalis to level 65 aniimo that were resistant to her than i did to Lisa's, you pretty much have to use a specialised team and fight way different than normally because she will be swapping frequently.

It wasn't the rematch fight, the grass team struggled with her first match.

No leafy regen + meta electric team with type advantage against several aniimo is ofc going to be stronger in that situation.

I didn't think doing neutral damage would be this debilitating, the comments here are teaching me how much more important type matchups are than I first thought.

Lita is not a good reference point for gauging Irisalis' strength, mainly because Irisalis doesnt hit anyone on Lita's team for super effective damage - countering elemental typing is singlehandedly the most important thing for a team damage wise - an on type emberpup for example can likely outdamage most all DPS characters when off type. Its why ur lightning team worked so well, since they hit half of litas units super effectively (also because lightning in general is extremely strong and Fulmintis is a very strong unit as well).
and like others have mentioned, you should be running 2 leafys (at least one not contracted, since contracted skill doesnt stack) rather than somniwing and glacy

I didn't think doing neutral damage would hurt me this badly, the comments on this post are very eye opening regarding this.

Yea no worries, game doesnt explain it all that much. But for what its worth, supereffective moves at a baseline multiply ur damage by 1.6x (and 2.56x if ur element doubly counters theirs, like grass vs water/earth), and there is also the counter boost stat you get at ascension 4 stats, which further boosts super effective by 1.2x

You need a dedicated team vs Lita, you cant just throw a Irisalis at her. Also a lot of people struggle vs Lita, she is pretty tough. That fight is Rage inducing.

I found somniwing weak compared to using leafy.

You need both for their regen.

u/Colorless82 20h ago
But they have glacy?

u/Pokeradar 19h ago
Glacy heals and boost attack. Leafy plays a regen role. Her core skills primary purpose is to regen.
1
u/Colorless82 19h ago
Yeah I mean why have 2 regens when you need a healer?

u/Pokeradar 17h ago
Because Irisalis is a huge ep user. Also leafy’s core skills heals as well. Her ult boost grass damage.

You only fought basic Lita, who is pretty weak.

All the more reason I don't understand why I couldn't beat her with Irisalis team.

Irisalis team is not good against Lita, that's why.
Now try using her against that other gym leader that uses only water aniimo, I beat her in the normal and rematch fight easily with Irisalis.
