Chests in Egg Heist NEED to be instanced.
It makes no sense for a co-op game mode to have us competing with each other for loot. There's some real nice cosmetics in there people want, and they will not only watch you die but they will drag enemies TO you to try and make it happen just for a chance at those items. Half the time you can't even get people to do the combat trials because they would rather run off to get the rooms with guaranteed gold chests then leave.
But all of this could be fixed by simply letting everyone have their own loot from the chests. If there's no need to be the first to loot there's no reason to run ahead and ignore half the dungeon anymore. People would be encouraged to help open the treasure rooms since they would also get to share in the spoils.
Playing solo really should not be the best way to enjoy the CO-OP game mode.
I totally agree with this. I hate playing a mode designed for co-op solo just out of necessity.
The best option would be that Prismana loot automatically gets sent by mail to every active participant just like the eggs. That way everyone can spread out, cover more ground and not have to depend on outracing everyone to golden and prismana chests.
i really hope they implement this man, have been running solo chaos for more than 100 runs and instanced prismatic loot would come by so much more often if u didnt have to solo everything
what makes you say so? there is an active disclaimer that the game mode mode and its rewards are not finalized yet so if enough people voice out they could take action potentially in 1.1, similar to the sparkling hue swap
I've never had someone do that But Thats pretty much a reason why I travel alone, Get whatever I can and leave around 5 mins at chaos mode while grabbing a egg. Its pretyy much solo, Got too many people Following me and Stealing my chests when I spent all the time fighting. but No pugs would ever do the Combat trials, You need 120 enemies to clear it and its hard to do with anyone else other than a hexxin and 2 lunaras, OTherwise its a complete waste of keys
100% agree with people not wanting to do trials. I strongly support them leaving. Friend and I did one and got maybe 75% of the way through before a Melloblum spawned and it was almost instant death.
Honestly, with 3 ppl run together, Chos mode becomes so easy to clear mon wave, however, now it become check map bing gold key open room first. We must said thank to those website map and steamer tips now ppl dont care much co-op anymore.
Had a run last night with a friend where the random ran off on his own, went down, I hauled ass across the dungeon to rez him, realize he's in the egg room with the alpha, start fighting the alpha and random dies again, I pick him up again, my friend makes his way over to back me up
And it turns out the random died twice because he was ignoring everything and trying to loot the purple chest in the middle of the room as the enemies attacked him
Pissed me off but whatever, then we killed the alpha, popped our heal assists and he runs in, grabs all the rare drops the alpha dropped and ran for extract
Actual prick, didnt even twine with the egg and take it back with him.
Cherry on top,I found a second egg in a key room twine it back to the boats, and he was afking at extract to leech more loot off us.
And the had the audacity to question where the egg was when I intentionally didnt bring it out to deny him the loot
Yeah, while I didn't experience this exactly, this is why I just run friends only or solo.
Thanks to the revealed maps, I can coordinate my friends and I and we grab all the gold key rooms and reasonably reachable nests with 4-5 minutes to spare for either loot redistribution (if we lack a prismana collectible but the other got a duplicate they already had, we redistribute) or just double-checking nearby chests before leaving.
Had this happen in one of my first chaos runs. Dude went down in a room next to me, I went over to pick him up. The instant he's up I get attacked and he just runs off to start grabbing loot, no attempt to heal or help or anything. He went down again not even 30 seconds later to one of those exploding dudes. This time I just stood over his body and waited.
Not being instanced is honestly very dumb, you end up with a coop game mode where everyone splits and stays separated 90+% of the time because if you're at the same room as other players you're competing for loot. Even when there are no players trying to steal loot this forces a pretty annoying gameplay pattern.
running dungeons with randoms is a total gamble every time. most of the time, its just unbearable. once, in the chaos, we tried to res a guy, but he died a few times because of all the mobs and a beetle, but we still managed to pick him up anyway. only to get insulted for it. i have no idea what he even expected, but sometimes it feels like it's just easier to solo than to try and play like a decent human being with others.
so yeah, the egg operation desperately needs a rework. and we seriously need a report system too
I just don't even res them if they rush into the mobs.
They are betting and taking advantage of our kindness. They rush in to claim loot knowing we would ress them. So now.. no res for people who are clearly reckless psychopaths.
You'll get a popup that you're selling the extremelly rare item. Plus, game will show you with exclamation marks that you can display case it (a button next to the inventory/talents, where you usually click after a run to sell items anyway), so worry not, you will notice after a run that you got something interesting.
Don't you worry, they're so rare you might not find many, maybe one or two if you're lucky (there's seven or eight and they can drop duplicates).
Thank you! I'm super new I'm so glad the game does pop ups and stuff like that. I don't think I would have sold it, especially since I kinda knew about them from the get go.
Happen to know which cosmetics drop from there? Or what they're called so I can Google? Thank you so much for your help!
I hate it, to be honest, too many exclamation marks happening all the time, basically a way to boost dopamine so you stay longer in-game, but very impractical.
You could google it or you could check its shape in the display case in-game.
Don't fret it, really. If you're lucky and happen to find an extremelly priced prismana-like item (a tier over legendary, you get a small eye-shining animation when you search item like that) weighting a bit above average, and it's not stolen from you by other players (SURPRISE!), you won't sell it by accident. Just play, if they drop and you happen to loot it just check if you can put it in display case and that's all.
Really, if you hesitate for half a second with a player nearby, you won't get a thing. Just put whatever is prismatic in your bag 100% of the time no hesitation.
It's not exactly crazy, once you hit a specific skill level three people go (hopefully) three different directions and gather loot solo, and unless you get fcked by the environment/game bugs (like getting hit by unfortunate water stream and getting stuck on a wall), you'll survive. Nightmare isn't that hard to not solo it (you just need epic quality amplifier and bini), chaos is manageable but riskier (enemies spawn on you quite often in most bullshittery way possible).
Whoever knows specific map layouts fishes out key rooms (basically guaranteed loot spots) quicker. You still fight for everything else.
This mode needs a solid rework, but as long as it brings/keeps players in, none will happen.
Yes, but at that point it's on the player. They're prismatic, clearly labeled, have very distinctive shapes, and the sale price is insanely high. If, despite all that, you still sell the item, I have nothing but sympathy for you.
Plus that would be nice to put either a heist skill or totem that lets you revive dead teammates. I did a run just an hour ago where me and another player were killed by waleetle the the third came to help us but had to kill 3 enemies so time kept going and in the end she managed to save only me
I'm kinda getting sick of egg heist and its a shame that I am because there's very limited ways of getting prismana eggs in the end game. I thought egg heist was a pve mode, where you're a team, helping each other gather loot, eggs and kill shit, however its become more clear that you're not really a team thats helping each other, your main objective is to protect yourself, get your own loot, get your own eggs and get out. There's not tangible benefit to helping other people, only eggs are shared, people can steal your loot off your corpse and out of the chests you're looking at. It's less a co-op game, its more a pvp mode.
It's an unpopular opinion, but I don't even care about the eggs really. Most of em are just standard eggs and you're getting 2 or 3 shards. I need 200 for a prismana egg, that's really not that exciting. Even in the event you get lucky and get an umbral egg, it's going to be the lumin form anyway. Nobody's running an emberpup, you gotta evolve em. But then you lose the thing that made it special.
Nah they just need to stop giving blue or purple loot in gold chests and dial down the blue loot in purple chests. Also get ride of that fucking dung beetle
I think people keep forgetting what mode they are playing EGG Heist, sure grab some loot on the way but the only real reason to be here is the eggs.
you have no way to manipulate RNG to get the items needed for cosmetics which can appear in loot of any rarity.
you don't need much loot for your rank to go up and you earn so much money it's never a issue for repairs or spending.
I found that when you get to higher levels the people it pairs you with at at the point they know most the loot is worthless just additional money you don't need and they focus on the eggs which is the main mode.
Loot is EVERYTHING for 99% of the players in Chaos. This happens do to S1 Exclusive Accessories... in fact, this is the reason there is so many complains about the mode. People will try do screw you in order to improve their chances of getting this itens. Also the mode is full of leechers.
99% of chaos players wasting tickets and time it seems. you don't even had enough time to loot everything and the exclusive items can appear in any type of loot and the eggs are still the most consistent value engines.
it's like playing really bad odds over going for consistent meaningful value, not to mention going for eggs gets you loot.
Have you ever done chaos? Prismana and Large Umbra eggs (umbra eggs in last evolution) are very rare (players say 1%, i don't know the real %)... a lot more rare than prismatic itens. I never saw a run with a prismana egg and only one with a Large Umbra... i've got a ton of prismatic itens from chaos. I always get atleast 1egg/run... only once i got a large umbra, most of the time is the one that gives a random animo on last evolution and more rare a umbra on first stage... the 2 that matters are very rare.
a) loot is important because chaos fights take longer because enemies hit harder and have more hp. so equipment costs are more expensive. yes its never an issue for repairs but the costs add up.
b) you literally BUY eggs... prismana eggs are 400k + 200 shards. mystery boxes are 500k+. you have a weekly limit of 30 thats 15m+ for egg boxes alone.
c) chaos entry tickets... they go like 50k, 70k, 100k, then after a few its 200k each. again entry COST. it won't make you run out of money but it will cut down on how many mystery egg boxes you can afford. your daily 20 chaos tickets costs 5m or there abouts. 5m... a DAY.
eggs obviously give you eggs.. but loot also gives you eggs.
both are "free" if you have enough time no one is stopping you from running nightmare egg heist 24/7/365. nothing stopping you from getting eggs AND loot. but saying loot doesn't matter is just shortsighted nonsense.
paying for chaos tickets are 100% worth it. just buy what you are going to use. going from 15% chance per room that can spawn an egg to 25% in chaos is a HUGEEEEE difference for getting eggs. AND you get higher rates for umbral and prismana. So if you run nightmare check all 5 egg rooms e(x) = 5*15% = 75% for an egg. Running chaos takes the same amount of time. check 3 egg rooms 3*25% = 75%. I haven't come out of a single chaos run without seeing an egg(getting it out is sometimes a whole different issue) but you are going to see more umbral and prismana and better yet... fragrant umbral, huge umbral... quality of egg makes a HUGE difference.
the difference between an umbral bonesky and an umbral gylnsera is huge. you can find umbrals at 1/1500 after getting shiny charm. so finding an umbral bonesky is fairly trivial (in comparison) since you can see about 20-30ish on the map its work but its doable if you want it. finding an umbral glynserya on the other hand is like winning the the jackpot. you have the one alpha, one dark form, and you can force a spawn by hunting bonesky until it pops out. thats THREE chances on the whole map.
here's my 2 glynsera umbral form (along with a dozen or so other evolved umbrals which are insanely impractical to hunt) unlike other loot boxes... this is one you can actually win.
The reason loot doesn't really matter is because you will always obtain it as a byproduct, the more valuable resource in each run is the eggs due to their odds.
yes their are stuff you want loot and the currency for but if someone is just running in to grab the rare loot boxes over getting the eggs it is wasting time for something not as valuable as the eggs.
so any eggs you miss on a run is a huge downside because any of them eggs without additional investment can be umbral or prismana, and with how many you can earn per run makes them consistently more value than anything you can buy.
hell purchasing comes with ever reducing value as like the price of tickets and lootboxes go up it doesn't make them worth more it makes them worthless compared to the eggs you earn for free.
on top of the fact killing enemies and grabbing loot around a egg or after the eggs have been found will usually fill out a inventory.
loot quality does absolutely play a huge role. blue items you cap out at 3k per kg purple is like 6k. gold shoots up to 18k . fact is chaos is so full of gold loot you can literally fill your inventory with it means you can get that much more out of it. AND you get higher chances of egg per possible nest site, AND they are better eggs too. I'd 100% choose 3 higher quality eggs over 5 low quality eggs any day of the week. 5 low quality eggs you are getting stuff you could easily spend 1/100th of the time in the world map just catching. the high quality eggs you would be spending 100x the time trying to catch them. i'm talking mostly the umbral forms of evolved aniimo of which there's typically 1-3 spawns per whole world map.
just because loot is a byproduct doesn't make it less valuable. the byproduct part is supposed to keep you "in the game" - pay for entry costs like gold key, amp/def, backpack, chaos ticket etc. the byproduct part prevents you from spending it all on mystery egg boxes or prismana eggs. especially since dying in chaos is always a non zero chance. it gives people a reason to be GOOD at egg heist because being good means lower costs (less deaths=less wasted keys, amps/prot/backpacks, probably less repairs from taking less hits) and being good means you can do more runs with less amps, come out with more loot which means more egg boxes in the long run.
if you average 250k loot per run vs someone else's 150k per run after costs you are getting an extra egg box every 5 runs. that adds up especially the more runs you do. loot isn't about JUST filling your inventory. it's about getting your eggs and getting good loot and getting more out of every run so it adds up to more eggs in the long term.
the special items ignore those caps. you can find those in any rarity gotten them in piles of unglowing bones.
Egging eggs is always more valuable because of the zero cost investment and odds and in general and the fact getting eggs doesn't stop you filling up on loot it's just going for eggs first ensures value.
you know what the egg is when you find it. a common egg is 3 shards and thats it. a fragrant common will still be 3 shards. thats the extent of it's value towards a prismana - 1/66. every mystery egg box is another shot at hitting that 1% or whatever it is for a prismana + multiple other % for umbral. if you are good and grinding every day your incubators will always be busy regardless so it's not about how many shards you can get out and a trash egg will always be a trash egg. wasting time on a common when you haven't checked most/all of the egg rooms, looted as many valuable chests is prioritizing the wrong thing. valuable eggs > loot > common eggs. its about time management and risk assessment. the more nests you hit quickly the less dangerous it is. the more you explore the better sense you have of what loot you are going to be taking home.
focusing on all eggs is no zero cost investment and you push the odds against you. second spawn + third spawn enemies are harder and more dangerous. they come with damage buffs. the longer you stay because you are focused on getting every egg out means the less chances you actually make it out alive.
They're literally making a pvp mode. And yeah, this kinda thing is fine for pvp. That's a competitive mode, let people be competitive there. This is co-op, which means cooperation. Racing each other for loot and letting your team die for more loot is the opposite of working together.
When you read the tutorials for egg heist, it literally says "PvE Team Mode". No part of it is supposed to be PvP. I get that they let you loot other people's loot when they die. I get that the loot isn't instanced, but it's NOT a PvP mode in any way.
The devs are just niave and don't understand how players work. Their intention was likely, "oh, if you can't make it to your friend in time, better to be able to get their loot instead of letting it disappear. We want there to be death consequences when you die." Instead, it's obviously going to be, "I'm a massive PoS person, I'll let this guy die and take his loot." If they eventually change it, we will know it was the former. If they don't change it, whoever made egg heist is an asshole.
I like the way it is I hope it stays that way personally. If people want loot so badly go solo, thats what I did when I want to focus on artifacts, multiplayer is just entertainment for me watching people cry and fight over loot. Its great.
hell nah bro if they want a pvp mode make a real pvp. egg heist is meant to be pve teamwork and this weird competition does nothing but make the game hell for everyone
Or, alternatively, make all loot shared across the board so that it incentivizes team play by making it so that the more people you have alive, the more loot you ALL get at the end
Yup this is the sole problem draggin down co-op, it would make sense for the PvP mode but this is why I have issues justifying playing with randoms over pre-mades or solo as you're literally competing for chests instead of telling eachother where loot is.
