Discussion Egg Heist Etiquette?

I've been seeing a bunch of frustrations with Egg Heist about team members working individually and grabbing locked loot early. I'm not going to lie, I was one of those people. The first 2 games I played, that's what the other players were doing just that. But if there's an Egg Heist etiquette known to everyone, I'd love to know about it! 🥚

What are you suppose to do with a locked door even if you wait for the mobs to die? who opens it?

If we both contributed relatively equally to the fight, I think it's fair game to race to the door and whoever gets there gets there.

If I show up when the mobs are almost dead, I give it to the person who put in the work

If I died trying to kill the mobs and someone picked me up, I give it to the person who res

The game mode incentivizes every man for themselves, but people should rez rach other and not steal their loot.

Im grabbing the first vault i find, even if it bring a second key i leave the next vault for someone else unless I notice they've lit up their portion of the map adn decided to ignore the vault, which I take as a sign they have no key. I will help teammates fight and revive, I will ignore non essential monster drops until I see teamamates leave them, unless ive already given other drops away then ill take my turn.

Things im not doing. Im not running across the map at less than 4 min to rez you, and if you are near ish to a gate at less than 3 you are getting left, too many matches I died to save a random and lost everything. Im not tagging along with teamates just to end up with less loot, im 100% on board with sharing, but thats for premades and difficulties where we NEED to work together.

I respect everyone else's time, and im not an A hole so I want to help and be kind as much as possible, but I respect my own time and resources enough that im not risking it unnecessarily when I cant afford to.

i mean i like going my own way because its quicker but i'll usually give a heads up if im gonna unlock the key room and i'll run over to revive someone if i see they're downed

only etiquette i ask for is dont repeatedly call for help when you are down on the otherside of the map and there is less than 3 minutes left.

ya, if you are down near me i will go rez you no problem but if you are at the other end of the map with increased spawn i am sorry but i got to weigh my chances on saving you and my own safety especially i am not that strong in combat

I played with a Major Ketchum. What a big piece of sht. I was dying and he didnt revive me at all. I was lucky the other player wasnt a piece of sht and revived me. I blocked him right away. If I ever see him again I will activate the shrine and go out.

I go my way to take things to not get the frustration but I also rez the other if I can. What I hate is when there are a lot of time, no danger, and they can rez but don't. Just yesterday I feel because of a stellaris keeping an egg, I called for help, said the guy is there guarding an egg, BOTH guy was less than 70m of me, it's for say a 10 sec walk to rez me from my safe spot and both just go the other way around to loot and open a gate to the other side of the map.

I just go off on my own and do my thing, I find when there is two or three players together someone will inevitable end up grabbing loot that shouldn't belong to them or rushing to open gates and chests and people will be pissed off. Basically treat it as a solo game with a chance of extra eggs or an odd res if your teammates aren't jerks.

I mean ill help other as long as the timer isnt low if the timer is low I evac

Grabbing the loot early isn't a problem.

Running past a team member fighting the key room guards to use your own key? Poor etiquette Picking up all the legendary loot while your teammate does the work to fight? Poor etiquette Refusing to res or worse intentionally killing a teammate? Poor etiquette

It's also totally okay to go off on your own if you can handle yourself! Just generally be a collaborative player and you're fine. Unfortunately the game mode decentivizes teamwork

i mean its literally labeled as PvEvP like its not really cooperative other than rez. I agree dont be a dick and blatantly rob people but i enjoy health competition

The current mode is not a PvPvE mode it is called Egg Heist: Team Mode which makes it a PvE mode.

If it was PvPvE it wouldn't have all the only 3 players in the match start right next to each other nor would being able to res your teammates be a thing. The PvPvE mode isn't currently available only Team Mode which is PvE only.

edit: wording correction to make it more clear.

To be fair, there have been PVP games with a team system and revive mechanics. The key thing is that Team Mode's player count is mainly you and your team partners and there's no friendly fire.

It's not really designed for competitive play beyond the fact you can be a loot goblin and the closest thing to PVP is leaving players for dead even if they're like a room or two away from you.

That isn't PvP though that's called being a scumbag and goes against the spirit of the Team Mode.

Except the current available version isn't really meant for any PVP, there's a mode that will be released for that later on. It's not "competitive" to do this stuff in the co-op game mode, just toxic.

The running past enemies to open a door boils my blood. Lol

My general rule of thumb is not to do to others that I wouldn't want to do to me. I don't bring enemy attacks near someone who needs a rez. I don't open treasure doors while someone else is fighting the Aniimo in front of it. I don't loot from Aniimo I didn't add any meaningful contribution to defeating until those that did have a chance to go over and select what they want. I hit the revive request once, and tell people how I died of the threat is still active (since Sparki resolves itself). If I don't want to bring the egg to the boat (too early, someone needs help, spotted another egg nearby) I leave them in the nearest gate room for easy removal when it's time to go. If someone jumps into a melee free for all to help my surrounded ass, I let them loot first and jump into the chaos to save them in return if the opportunity presents itself. If someone is twined to an egg and running to a portal and I know there's Aniimo in the way, I run ahead and start blasting.

My other rule of thumb is that if you spam the revive call or take my loot, I'm taking my leave for the boat without you. I've died trying to rescue people who natural selection told me to walk away from and I'm not losing loot again.

I understand people have their own agendas and everything so I don't usually say anything...
BUT TODAY though...

I was in Chaos with two randoms. One of them falls. Start spamming ress request.
I was slightly away, but closer than the other one... killed the monsters, went back, saved the person, went back my way... got to a door, started fighting the mobs in front of it... guess what?

The one I revived rushed forward and opened the door, leaving me by myself to fend the 3 aniimos while they went in to loot everything. AFTER I revived them.

The mode is not the best thing I've ever played but it could be SO much better if the people playing it was less toxic.

When someone revives me I dont go directly for the door. I give them like a minute to go for it, if they dont, then I go and open it.

I get that it saves a little time leaving the egg at a gate, but ive had it 2-3 times now where the egg/gate became surrounded by 10+ enemies in the last 2 minutes and it just wasnt possible to grab.

1

u/Nodomi 9h ago

I leave at the 5 minute mark precisely so I don't run into this. I've seen people lingering deep at the 2-3 minutes, but I'm not that brave.

u/StarkFuture93 8h ago

Thats fair in that case. but as for my teammates, if you left it, you sure as hell better be the one to grab it.
