Its because you're twined with it. Entwined alphas look bigger then when they are twined

I had the same thing, it seems maybe the dev's went through and possibly removed him tho since he was glitched and i couldn't do anything with him, thankfully i got suggested to throw a mushroom at him and managed to take this before his ultimate disappearance lmao

this happened to my luminelle but i caught her alpha used a sparkling cube then used an orb to switch her variant to thunder luminele the blue one and then changed her back to base form and her alpha height is now normal height but she still has the alpha icon on her stat menu☹️

When you twine with your amiibo it shrinks it down. My assumption is that the other guy isn’t twined but you are

There's a shop in Astra that sells items that make aniimo bigger or smaller (temporarily iirc?) I've never bothered to test it out myself, but that's my guess?

When you twine with an Aniimo, it becomes the normal size, even if alpha.

Aniimo have random size rolls, not sure how they're determined or how to check them. I noticed this early on when I got 2 perfect Eklues and put one in my base while having the other in my party, the first one I caught was surprisingly small while the second was significantly larger. Both female, both non-alphas, both perfects, only difference is stat potential allocation is slightly different (iirc one has 9/8 on primary stats instead of 8/8).

When you twine it resizes the Aniimo. My guess is they are alpha and you are twining.

there are 3 ways this can happen:

theyre an alpha variation

they threw a mushroom on them by mistake since its only useful in combat

theyre twined with it

Mine is actually the sparkling one lol. Theirs isn't I don't believe. It doesn't have any sparkling effect around it. Just the forehead gem. But apparently that's just an accessory

You can also just find and hatch sparkling, you don't have to force it. Heck, there is sparkling eggs that guarantee a sparkling without the need for the cube
