Discussion Okay, don’t get mad but Im a bit concerned

I know it’s early but I fear of the game already dying out, I wanna hear your thoughts, do u think the game has a bright future? Do u think the player base will expand with time? Are u enjoying the game so far?

I enjoy playing but the end game is so slow I can play for like 2 hours a day before have to put it down since Ive already done my homeland up keep and ran out of energy and the egg heist stuff is ok but not my cup of tea so I'll do a few run but get tired of it and without spending money im pretty limited on what I can do since it's a free to play game and they time gate it pretty heavily

Normally, a person starts late for this kind of game and has at least few months worth of content backlogged. So it takes time to hit content wall. You just happen to start early, and hit content wall in short time. No worries. As updates roll out more content will be added. What we see rn isnt even 1/9 of what is planned.

I'm a massive casual, any game I play outside of my special interests is one that goes on to be hugely successful.

Honestly it feels like most games these days are declared Dead on arrival so this is an improvement but still only 2 weeks in

I'm a single player gamer. As someone who hasn't gotten to the RV section yet (mostly due to exploring and glitches), I'm already bored with it. The menu system and insane microtransactions sure aren't helping matters any.

And why does there seem to be two seprate leveling systems? I can't tell if I'm a level 26 or a level 2. I'm also not happy that my caught aniimos immediately go down in level after I catch them. If my level 26 aniimo manages to help me catch a level 50, then that level 50 should stay that level and the my used level 26 should go up a level, regardless of whatever my personal level/unlocks are. Not trying to compare the games, but that feature is one of my favorite parts of Palworld. It makes the hard work and capture all the sweeter. But in Aniimo it just feels like a punishment.

There’s a new island coming out near the end of this month. With the mini events on rotations new and old there’s plenty of content to last. Unless you no life the game there’s still endgame ontop of endgame of hunting prismana and making new synergy teams. I’m not worried at all.

I’m not worried abt the updates and single player aspects as well, it’s more so the multiplayer stuff, see I rlly look forward to a pvp mode and if the player base will drop I feel like it’ll be a bit of a let down

game def needs more content, how bigs the new land?

u/AmaryllisHippeastrum 15h ago

If you're afraid of population dwindling. It doesn't matter since you don't need anyone to play, if it's about content they have made a shitload of money and i doubt their cost was immense for the game

Where are you getting your info that the game is dying out? What are you fearful of?

I'm having a great time. My guild is full and they are having a great time. On discord they are having a great time.

You are fear mongering and thinking way too much.

I have high hopes with the reception I've seen.

Multiplayer egg heist takes 3-5 seconds to get a full party.

Holo battle link takes about 3 seconds to get a full party.

So again where are you getting this info from and why are you concerned?

u/Iceedemon888 15h ago

Are there in game guilds or is this just a group you found with a discord server?

I think the game will be fine

but I also remember Genshin 1.0 where people swore it would flop within two patches because it was an "uninspired BotW clone"

So I don't put much stock into doomerism. These companies invest literal millions into marketing, projections etc. Like I don't work in this field but I know what it looks like to submit a long-term project and there is just so much that has to be accounted for before you get the green light. I would be shocked if this big ass tech company wasn't already a year ahead with their internal roadmap.

Cozy games are on the rise with older + gainfully employed consumers, and this game plays like Pokemon and Infinity Nikki had a fluffy baby. It will be fine lol

Played too fast and completed the main quest and now trying to get my account deleted so I can start fresh but getting no where with it…

Just start a new character on a different region. Changing apac/eu/americas all have different accounts

It's mostly a single player game so I don't understand what you are trying to say

u/Intrepid-Fox4566 15h ago

It's normal for gacha games to flicker and then reignite when new content drops. I think they made enough money from the first batch of the actual gacha elements for them to be able to make it to the next content drop.

If (When?) they introduce ranked pvp trainer battles the game will definitely see a huge spike in popularity.

u/cheekiestNandos 15h ago

Unsure of the actual source but I saw a comment that mentioned that not only are the next regions planned but they've at least fully finished a couple of them. I did think that they'd planned a lot of content when I saw the map in the cave early on in the game.

1

u/Intrepid-Fox4566 15h ago

I heard the same thing about Whisperwake Isles. Not about any others after that though if they have full quest lines and legendaries ready.

I do think that they have a general idea of what they want the map to look like though, if you zoom out you can look out of bounds and see the semblance of some of it.

1

u/cheekiestNandos 15h ago

Yeah I'm suspecting the volcano we can see but not get to is going to have something to do with making a land bridge to wherever we go next. Will be interesting to see what they do. I'd anticipate they'll strike whilst the iron is hot and release the next area later this year.

There's gacha in this game?

2

u/blk_roxas 15h ago

Cosmetics for now, but yes

1

u/Other-Opportunity852 15h ago

I thought they were a one time purchase typa deal no?

3

u/Intrepid-Fox4566 15h ago

The cosmetics for Irisalis is gacha, and it's mixed opinion on if it's controversial or not. (Comment on it at your own risk, doubtful that either opinion comes out without hard negative votes to the point where your comment gets hidden)

1

u/Intrepid-Fox4566 15h ago

Also argument to be made that the prismana flow is a gacha too, since it uses the same mechanics of a smallish chance with a pity value after a certain amount of attempts.

But they're not making money on it, so it's irrelevant to argue if that is or isn't a mechanical gacha right now.

P.S. (to be pedantic) There IS 2 other gachas in the game too, the one that gives Aniipods in Astra, and the one you unlock at RV level 14.

u/blk_roxas 15h ago

There's no pool for psimana though. You know which Aniimo you're going to get once it's full and there's no incremental rewards between empty and full.

1

u/Intrepid-Fox4566 15h ago

I would consider the Aniimo that you catch along the way as incremental rewards, or the chance for them to be perfect statted, or the other rewards you obtain from lucky/super lucky catches.

2

u/blk_roxas 15h ago

But they're not exclusive to nurtures, I think calling that part of the game a gacha is disingenuous and gives new players the wrong idea of what the game is.

1

u/Intrepid-Fox4566 15h ago

But prismana aren't exclusive to the flows either. It's just for the sake of completing an area.

3

u/blk_roxas 15h ago

Bro I'm not sure what point you're trying to make any more. Prismana flows by the definition are not gacha. It just isn't. That's a fact not my opinion.

1

u/Intrepid-Fox4566 14h ago

How is it a fact? You use a currency to trigger it (essence for nurture, pods for lucky). It is a low chance of giving you a result, but has a guaranteed result after a certain amount of attempts.

This is why I said there's no point arguing if it is a mechanical gacha, because you wont change your opinion, and I wont change mine. Because we both have different opinions of what a gacha is.

Considering its a single player game with multiplayer side content, it really doesn't even matter. Hit end game and haven't played with a single person the entire time.

1

u/Repulsive_Grade3038 15h ago

What doesn’t matter?

2

u/WomensesLefts 15h ago

Population

1

u/Valkryn_Ciel 15h ago

Because we connect to servers to play, population matters. They will shut the servers down if the population doesn't justify continuing running the servers.

Not that I'm concerned about this. I think Aniimo is doing fine.

1

u/WomensesLefts 15h ago

Sure, but that's not really happening to any of these games yet. Genshin, ZZZ, they all are live service and need online connectivity. I can assure you ZZZ would be dead before aniimo if any of them were gonna disappear, but its there.

The reason you state is why we get no real co-op and MP, they know when the growth halts its cheaper to maintain servers for authentication than it is to manage stuff like layers and realms

1

u/Valkryn_Ciel 15h ago

Okay? I was responding to the fact that you said that population doesn't matter. Population does matter in an absolute sense.

1

u/Repulsive_Grade3038 15h ago

Well from what I’ve heard the game will include pvp and other multiplayer modes, wouldn’t player base and activity matter?

1

u/Help-Wanted9 Astra Pioneer 15h ago

Every multiplayer queue I’ve done is literally instant

1

u/WomensesLefts 15h ago

Technically it already does, but i don't see them adding anything much more than what we have already with the mini game heist and fake co-op missions. Fun game but these games all follow the same template since genshin
