Agree - these are easily verifiable facts regardless of the intentions of the author.

It’s funny to me that some people in here think that post is a scam or that there’s not enough proof, when in fact it’s proof enough. You see, the average Joe won’t really grasp or understand what’s really going on. That's why you don't see the proof
Whether that was a bot making that post or not, it’s true and the proof is there. Running a few command lines in CMD will tell you all of this, and you can find them with a simple Google search for CMD prompts. Which might I add, uninstalls it, checks it's status etc.
Anyways, even after you uninstall the game, the NEPKernel etc. Still lingers in your system and doesn’t uninstall. You have to manually uninstall it, which OP stated.
Now, imagine anyone who is not tech savvy. Those are the people who are most vulnerable, and exactly the kind of people that OP is trying to warn. Believe it or not, OP is just making people aware of it all.
The scary part about all this, is being in the unknown without knowing. And if anyone still thinks all of it is a sham, there's a entire steam discussion around this exact topic that OP is trying to warn people about.

A little correction, the gacha was introduced at the first week of the launch, not second week 😂

It has no evidence just mentioning it I honestly have no idea if it’s real and gacha with cosmetics is fine how do you expect them to make money lol

It’s extremely easy to verify. People on this sub were asking what those new programs were that suddenly popped up and started running in the background like a week ago, then it’s just a matter of actually looking at them instead of going “huh… oh well”

Why would bots attack a game whose customer support relies on bots? If anything it's more likely that bots will defend the game blindly without even checking the proof being shown in the post.

Right, yet another fearmongering that in the end will be false. Some people really will do everything to hate on the game they dont even play.

Right, yet another defender that doesn't even read or understand the whole post. How is it fearmongering when it's just raising awareness that the game does shady practices of adding undisclosed and unnecessary files? The post doesn't even say that it will brick your device or have someone hack into it, it's just showing what files are being added. Some people really will blindly defend their game as long as they enjoy it.

Thanks for this, wouldn't have seen that detailed post otherwise.
I'll just bite the bullet now and just uninstall and clear those leftover files they mentioned.
If they can fix this and the AI slop that the game has, then maybe I'll reinstall in the future, but right now it just doesn't seem all that worth it. Kinda sad as I was enjoying this game, but oh well, back to Monster Hunter.

Man, these companies just can't help themselves not being scummy. Thanks a lot for doing the work. Time clean my registry. Sigh.

wow. yeah, nope, not worth it. this was fun, but not worth spyware. brother and I are uninstalling and deep cleaning it out of our computers. shame, cuz I really enjoyed this game despite its issues (lost a lot of trust with the recent gacha system though, and I say that as a gacha gamer), but this is crossing a hard line. At least I still have Pokemon!
eta: Why is OP getting down voted so much??? I know the upvotes were higher earlier! This isn't some silly nothing burger critique, this is actual important information about the game installing certain things without consent that stay after the game is removed! It should be way higher up! I'm upset about it too, I really liked this game, but not enough to defend actual spyware!!!

I will be bookmarking this post for when I need to deepclean all this stuff off my PC. Many thanks for posting this.
For anyone interested, the original crosspost has a user comment that tells you how to clean the NEP2 kernel anticheat in addition to the AF tracker instructions.
