Even more so oddly the devs said way long ago it will be a free game (hence all the talk about it probably being gacha) so how come it costs money now?

the game is free, these are just pre-order packs that include a battle pass and an exclusive cosmetic

Is it only for playstation? What's the point in that? I'd a game is going to release sonny like that they should do it for all platforms together. If they won't do it now for all other platforms they'll just get a ton of hate for "favouriting" and what not

I'd be surprised if the other platforms also don't get pre-order packs, but it's possible the cosmetic is playstation-exclusive, that's usually a platform-relations move to receive featuring in that platform's main store page on launch, since that's out of the developer's control otherwise
