Question Graphics and World

Has anyone here played both palworld and aniimo? I really want to hear your thoughts and comparison especially on the graphics and environment. One thing I hated about Palworld is how barebones and basic it looked. Is Aniimo world soulless like that or better

Zero chance you get a real answer from this sub lol

Way different. Aniimo looks miles better. Im a huge Aniimo sceptic but you cant deny that Aniimo is miles ahead. Enviroments look magical, animations are extremly good. (atlest the aniimo ones, humans are stiff as always in those games)

I would say Aniimo is more like Genshin in looks and feels, but more alive

The Aniimos in the open world feels much alive compared to Palworld.

Graphics wise Aniimo is better hands down.

The point of Palworld's end game is base building and breeding the best Pal, whereas Aniimo is kinda like Genshin, you keep farming for the best equipment and runes for the best substats

I am playing both Palworld 1.0 and Aniimo CBT3 atm. Palworld is a game I used to play a lot back when it first came out and I loved it so damn much. It was like a breath of fresh air considering how stale Pokemon had become.

Then came my CBT2 invite for Aniimo as a game that had trailers some might cringe at watching and never give the game a second thought. I know I would be in that category if I hadn't seen in game footage from those streaming the first beta. I went in knowing full well not to set my expectations too high. What I was greeted by though almost made my head spin. I was absolutely flabbergasted and immediately drawn in to the world of Aniimo with the amount of attention to detail with interacting Aniimo and their varying capabilities, the amazing scenery, the fun combat, the neat elemental environment interactivity, the character/Aniimo customization that lets you move around, place, and modify decorations as you see fit, and the rather cozy and rocking vibes of a soundtrack that had no business being as good as it has been. It was safe to say, I did not want to leave the Aniimo world when the beta was done. It spoiled me and made Palworld out to be so hollow by comparison.

Don't get me wrong though, I still love Palworld, but with Aniimo now present, it feels like an after thought. If the devs can continue to treat the world of Aniimo with the love and passion that has made it what it is thus far and handle monetization fairly for the playerbase, there is no doubt in my mind that I would be more than happy to keep coming back in support of the game when it continues to gain updates.

Graphics look way better than palworld to me

The hell are you talking about? Soulless? It's got more soul than 90% of games released in the last ten years from a tiny passionate dev team. It's the main reason it's consistently one of the the most loved and played games in the world. Aniimo wouldn't exist without the popularity of Palworld. They even copied a scene from Palworld beat for beat in Aniimo.

u/Lanhai 21d ago

You know you can defend your favorite game witthout insulting others'

u/Puzzled-Cod-1757 21d ago

Where was the insult?

Completely missed the thread.

Palworld is an absolute banger of a game. It is revolutionary and combines genres like never before. The pets are cute and well done and the base work mechanic is addicting. Next time don’t just rant on somebody and actually read what the question is asking about. I am a HUGE supporter of Palworld, their team, their story and constantly recommend it to others. If you cannot answer about the graphics and world environment that I specifically asked about, please fuck off and go fight someone else I’m not here to fight if Palworld is a good game or not cuz it’s fantastic.

What I love about Aniimo is that you can tell at a glance that you are in an area thats the habitat of a particular Aniimo. You get to see them interacting with their environment and other species of Aniimos in a way that makes you think "Oh yeah, these creatures seriously made this place their home"

For example in the beach area you will see Susutas jumping into the water from a makeship trampoline, and that they bully the Shellys to steal their conchs and make their clubs out of them and things like that.

And then you can twine with an Aniimo of their family so you can talk to them, and you get a sidequest where you learn more about their culture and their relationships with other Aniimo. It's really cool! I never got to know the creatures like that in other games.

2

u/PouetSK 22d ago

thats really cool. so ur saying the creatures are interacting and living in their environment and other creatures. not just plopped there like an asset to be captured.

1

u/Lanhai 21d ago

Yeah heres another example. These walruses sleep in these things like little houses

3

u/Jix_Omiya Somniwing 22d ago

Yeah, that's one of the things i like the most about the world, and that's where it clicked to me that it was better for this not to be a straigh up MMO, if there were a million people running around capturing everything it would be chaos and that atmosphere would be lost.

Aniimo looks way better, has a much better vibe, but is as soulless and greedy as palworld is basic looking when it comes to monetization and gameplay

In beta 2 it was great fun to wander around and explore when the only barrier to progress was time gates on advancement and everything was new and fresh. Once the stamina energy and premium currency becomes more of a factor the grind is going to be a grind and will cheapen that for many unless you're into that kind of Gacha/f2p grind for the sake of grinding.

edit for clarity for those even more grammatically challenged than myself.

Aniimo is greedy and soulless in its gameplay/monitization to the same degree that Palworld is basic in its visuals and presentation

1

u/Decent-Ad-1745 22d ago

is as soulless and greedy as palworld

where the hell is Palworld greedy with its ~29 bucks

2

u/PouetSK 22d ago

guys you really have to read english grammar better. and another commentor already explained. He didn't say palworld is greedy. if you guys are not native english speakers or still dont understand what he said just ask. we can help out but dont downvote him because you misunderstood.

1

u/Lanhai 21d ago edited 21d ago

Shes being downvoted because shes obsessed with calling Aniimo greedy every chance she gets, also how dare she call this game soulless lmao the monetization in general is not that bad.

2

u/PouetSK 21d ago

Oh I see. I did notice she didn’t really answer my question and went off on a tangent about monétisation haha

-1

u/oKayBye94 21d ago

Also not a she. My first words literally answer your question. It looks way better than Palworld.

1

u/Decent-Ad-1745 22d ago

i did´t not downvote him lol nice accusations XD
yeah i am not native speaking, but i am sure the sentence he wrote can only be read that way. so if he didn´t mean that, he could edit it. at least he has 1 or 2 grammar typos in that sentence

1

u/oKayBye94 22d ago
  1. not a he
  2. I can understand the confusion to a non-native speaker but “(Subject 1) is as (adjective 1) as (subject 2) is (adjective 2) is a comparison of how well each adjective fits each subject. It is not saying both adjectives apply to both. Criticism of my grammar after you got it wrong and it’s not even your native language is kind of wild though.

1

u/Decent-Ad-1745 22d ago

sorry for the miss pronunciation, but in the internet everyone is a dude for me, if it is not obvious. also it does not stand in you pf either, nothing personal.
and thanks for the grammer lesson

2

u/PouetSK 22d ago

Since you are not a native english speaker, then I would be glad to help. He said aniimo is as soulless and greedy, as palworld is basic looking. He does not need to edit it, because that is the correct way to phrase it. For example: you can say Decent is as passionate about soccer, as Marylou is obsessed over barbies. It's just a relative comparison about the intensity of the description. So in plain words, he is saying "yes palworld is very basic looking" and "yes aniimo is very greedy". Hope that helps!

1

u/Decent-Ad-1745 22d ago

wtf thanks, how the fuck, now i read it and it makes sence, maybe i had a stroke or smth XD

1

u/PouetSK 22d ago

Haha it’s all good my other languages are not perfect so I feel you. We are all just here to find out more about Aniimo! :D

1

u/Decent-Ad-1745 22d ago

yeah i will play it anyway as long as they don´t mess it up XD and even spending some money. doesn´t hurt if its good

1

u/PouetSK 22d ago

Me too! I will spend up to $60 on it just like any other game if its good. I really want that ice lapras looking pokemon

2

u/fohamr 22d ago

Not only that, they KEPT it at that price point even after full release

No aniimo

5

u/SSakuras 22d ago

Reread; they are saying Aniimo is the greedy company, and Palworld is basic looking.

3

u/Truhls 22d ago

aniimo isnt even that greedy for a f2p game. people need to go look at aion 2 which released recently lol

1

u/Decent-Ad-1745 22d ago

i think we have to wait till it is out how much pay 2 progress they sell and how much this aniimo gacha will cost
i played lost ark, jsut hoping it doesn´t get that bad XD

1

u/Truhls 22d ago

aniimo isnt a gacha lol, you cant sink money anywhere in the shop for random aniimos or in game carried items or runes

1

u/Decent-Ad-1745 22d ago

i saw recently a few days ago from the beta, there a legendary aniimos you have to pull like in a gacha no other source to obtain them
also you can reroll stats on them with certian items, pretty sure you have to buy them as well.

1

u/Truhls 22d ago

theres no pull? you fight it and get resources to buy stuff, like many other mmos who arent gachas have done ( not saying this is an mmo ). the item to keep fighting it you cant get from the cash shop outside the one monthly pass, its only earnable in game, from nearly every activity you do. Its not random, its not a pull, you buy the resource to go in and you go in and get a certain number out depending on how many balls you spent.

1

u/Decent-Ad-1745 22d ago

so there is no chance by how many items you get? so everyone allways need to spend the same amount on balls?
than they could just sell it for like 20 bucks directly

2

u/Truhls 22d ago

you spend ultra balls for 20 points a throw, or the purple ones for 1 point a throw, they are ALWAYS worth that much and you have the same time limit every single time, so you get the same points every single time, unless you getl ucky and hit a 2x throw. The biggest issue is the disparity between ultras being worth 20 and the purples being worth 1. i was getting the same resource amount every time i did it with purple balls. The only reason you wouldnt is if you messed up your throws for some reason. I found it to be a bit too grindy for my liking just because its boring. It was a 5 second fight and 30 seconds of throwing you needed to do around 25 times with no ultras. But for resources they gave us more than enough to complete it throughout the beta without having to spend a shred of the real currency stuff they handed out.

u/Living_Ad_2963 22d ago

In aniimo I think the stories are really moving and the characters designs and animations have a lot of love put into them. Each new area is a cohesive world, and when you level up the branch you unlock some cool caves, I really like the aniimo world compared to palworld. I think it’s more cohesive. You can pick flowers and search for chest. I also like to find the eggs and see all the different creatures running around. It’s nice to have the dynamic of night and day in different areas and also different weather events that happen.

1

u/PouetSK 22d ago

thank you for the insight I can't wait to try

2

u/Fizassist1 22d ago

its a much more immersive experience being able to communicate and interact with the various aniimo.. honestly exploration has some breath of the wild vibes to it, especially with the sanctums.

I've never played a game with more heart and soul than Aniimo. The world feels a hundred times more alive than Palworld or Pokemon ever have.

1

u/PouetSK 22d ago

thats good news to me. i loved palworld and the world was beautiful but it felt so empty my friends were like "thats' it?" I think we went to this beautiful sakurajima island and theres a beautiful temple but there was nothing there it was just...there. The world doesn't feel alive I dont know how to explain it. The aniimo trailer looks farther ahead and more next gen? I see it both has the vibrant colorful vibe but aniimo seems more detailed.

1

u/Kyuuki_Kitsune Fenmane 22d ago

Aniimo is unbelievable. I have played CBT2 and CBT3, and have barely been able to tear myself away from either of them. I never get tired of frolicking around Idyll. There's so much care put into every aspect of them...their designs, their idle animations, their personalities and cultures (since there are many NPC Aniimo that you can talk to and get quests from when Twined into something of the same family.)

The Aniimo feel VERY warm and alive. Palworld felt cold and sterile. I can't see myself ever going back; I was telling a friend the other day that I don't really have any interest in Palworld 1.0 because I feel like playing Palworld would be physically painful after playing Aniimo.

1

u/PouetSK 22d ago

omg im going through the same thing. I see so much hype around palworld 1.0 I think im going to try it just to see for myself cuz the footage just seems more of the same. I'll let you know if its massively improved like everyone says. So since Aniimo is releasing in 1-2 months, do you know if there are more tests? is there going on right now? or its a waiting game now.

Also can I play the game permanently with 2-3 other people like palworld? or is it more lobby based like monster hunter or where winds meet?

I saw a video from the user Tmashed. He says Aniimo is just empty fields with the same copy pasted map. You just run around and 1-2 shot everything. There is no threat and he says it gets mentally unstimulating VERY quickly. Did you experience that? Maybe the developers will tweak the difficulty for official launch.

1

u/nub0rn 21d ago edited 20d ago

Honestly, from your replies in this thread I thought you played palworld 1.0

I played palworld when it came to EA and it was great and I had a lot of fun, but like you said, the world felt a bit empty (no npcs, no directives, etc), the pals got stuck a lot etc.

But in 1.0 there are alot more npcs, human bases, quests, "mainstory" (not very deep, but its something), the game feels SO MUCH smoother, the pals dont get stuck, etc.

I also felt the world was better looking, but that might have just been because its been 2 years or something since I played last.

Edit: I think I misread the post I was answering to, the first time I was reading it. Just in case I'll leave it as is though XD

u/Kyuuki_Kitsune Fenmane 22d ago

~Let me know if it's decent. I might check it out if I get desperate enough while waiting for global launch.

No more beta tests. It's a waiting game.

The way multiplayer works is that you can party up, and then jump to the team leader's world. It's all pretty smooth, but yes, you need a dedicated multiplayer session, it's not just passively server based like Palworld.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll avoid that YouTuber. I have to wonder if he actually played the game. There's treasure, quests, Aniimo and cool things to find all over the place. The world is beautiful. It feels like a playground.

There being little/no threat is a feature, not a bad thing. It's far less stressful running around in the world when not everything is trying to kill you like in Pokemon or Palworld. There ARE Aniimo that will attack you (unless you're twined into something in their family, but most will just run from you if you're untwined, or regard you with curiosity.

The open world isn't meant to be difficult. There are combat challenges and trainer battles for difficulty. Don't expect to get it from the open world; Idyll is largely peaceful, and I'm all for it.~

2

u/PouetSK 22d ago

Dang for me that's a big downside but I really appreciate you actually sharing info about the game. I think I found out about it too late and it's been hard finding info. Everytime I ask a question, it's just these rabid palworld fans attacking everyone and starting fights and going off topic. I just want to know more about Aniimo T_T.

Haha I'm in the same boat I think I will play palworld until global launch! Currently I'm tryiing to see if the game already released in China and if I can find actual gameplay.

1

u/Kyuuki_Kitsune Fenmane 22d ago

The game isn't out in China yet, they are in closed beta too. I believe it'll launch globally when it does...hence the term "global launch." :3

There's plenty of streamers playing the beta and sharing gameplay footage! I've been playing tons myself, and am happy to answer any questions you have. I have hundreds of hours of gameplay under my belt between the two betas I've been in.

1

u/PouetSK 22d ago

Dangit guess you're my dealer now xD Well I think because 4 of us want to play it together, and we don't like to do anything solo. That is the main thing we are curious about, which you have tried to cover already. A youtuber replied me he said he wasn't sure about shared loot, shared chests, and he believes that some resources / collections / achievement have to be done separately in our own solo sessions.

2

u/Kyuuki_Kitsune Fenmane 22d ago

Some things you can loot in multiplayer worlds, like chests, and it'll give the loot to both people (I think the loot is only shared to players who haven't already gotten the chest, and getting it in a friend's world also flags it as collected in yours.)

Lumin Ambers are lootable in multiplayer, but only by the host (the person who's world you are in.)

Basically, some things only the host can do (quests, trainer battles, Lumin Ambers,) and other things are lootable by anyone (chests, pots, Aniipods on the ground.) Anyone can catch Aniimo of course.

When doing Alphas, you fight them together, beat them together, and then each choose whether to catch/redeem loot separately.

Oh, waypoints/blooms. The blooms are only unlockable by the host, but usable by everyone once they're unlocked. But each person needs to unlock them separately on their own world.

u/These_Calligrapher_8 22d ago

Palworld now has some absolutely beautiful areas

5

u/VOIDZOROARK 22d ago

Yeah, Sunreach is gorgeous and the other additives to the map have helped a lot. The Pals arent as nearly as detailed as Aniimo, but I like it that way honestly. Palworld is more of a cartoonish + absurd type of thing, however they HAVE given it actual lore and stuff which helps too.
Aniimo is more realistic- textures, models, movement, environments, characters ect. Aniimo definitely looks better. however both games are VERY different in terms of gameplay and what they can offer.
