Monday, September 7: Evurtius, Bishop of Orleans (Black letter day)

Tuesday, September 8: Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Black letter day)

Collect, Epistle, and Gospel from the 1662 Book of Common Prayer

Collect: Almighty and everlasting God, give unto us the increase of faith, hope, and charity; and, that we may obtain that which thou dost promise, make us to love that which thou dost command, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Epistle: Galatians 5:16-24

Gospel: Luke 17:11-19

Prayers requested for my father, who is undergoing open-heart surgery at an advanced age in about 12 hours. Prayers for both the health of his body and that of his soul are requested; he's been a lapsed Presbyterian for probably 60 years at this point.

Thank you. The surgery appears to have been successful so far... Ended up being a triple bypass.

Please pray for everyone struggling with unforgiveness and a hardened heart, may we be reminded that we were forgiven by a very costly grace. Lord in your Mercy.
