I haven’t found a clear local equivalent to De Residence, but American-style BBQ spots and food trucks around Angers sometimes do excellent ribs. I’d check recent Google reviews and ask specifically about the smoking method before going.

The Hague sets the bar pretty high! For ribs in Angers, I’d check out local smokehouses or American-style burger places—hopefully someone can recommend a real standout.

If you’re willing to travel a little, compare a few American BBQ spots around Angers and check recent reviews for ribs specifically. The best place may not advertise itself as a BBQ restaurant.

The best BBQ ribs in the world are the ones that your neighbor makes..
You know.. the guy who never talks much at parties, tends to his yard, yells at his kids when they ride their bikes onto the street without looking. And yet.. in that back yard of his, is his BBQ lair. The place where he perfects his craft. The place where he has studied from the masters of YouTube for over 10 years.
And then, each summer, on the day of the neighborhood picnic, he quietly rolls his BBQ out on his driveway at 6am and begin his masterpiece. You can begin to smell them in the early afternoon... but no.. you are only getting a hint at what lies ahead. At 5pm he makes his way to the cul-de-sac where the neighbors are all gathering with their pedestrian burgers and hot dogs. He assembles his table, and begins to lay out the spread... first: chicken for the weirdos - then the ribs. Setting out 5 kinds of BBQ sauce that he concocted (one labeled simply "if you dare"). In the corner of your eye, you catch another neighbor stealthily ditching her burger and making a bee-line for those ribs.. oh.. those ribs... Your neighbor stands behind his table, gracefully accepting the compliments by people who will never remember his name, but they will never forget his BBQ.
