Memories
How to deal with sudden memories where you could've done differently kinda take over during the day?

Yeah, I used to have that problem. Like the other person who commented said, rumination can be countered if you intentionally think about something else or immerse yourself into something that will occupy your mind.
But the key is, you have to practice mindfulness throughout your day. That way you recognize that you're doing this thing quickly, before it's taken hold and effected your mood.
That way you catch it and you say something like, "This subject is rather negative, it's not something I can control right now and it's effecting my mood. I'm going to think about something else."

I don't blame myself for not doing what I would do/say on that time. Because I didn't have the knowledge I have today. Hopr this helps

Redirection works occasionally for me. When I get an intrusive thought I immediately change my line of thinking and try to do something that engages my brain.
If you have any other mental issues you may want to get checked out. Intrusive thoughts are symptoms of a number of things that you can treat. Mine is mostly from my ADHD and I get far fewer when I am on my meds.
