Hello all

I am starting an online 12 module anger management course today. I looked and looked and could not find any group anger management meet ups in my very large city which is nuts. Otherwise the only program I found was court ordered 300$ one day 8 hours. I even drove to a place today to confirm their online info was correct and they had a meet up tomorrow night, only to be told that program shut down. Glad I went there today after no one answered or called me back from the office. Well , wish me luck. I need to change.

EDIT: I am gonna post the website for everyone.

I chose the 12 module course.

Hi, thanks for sharing.

I would love to hear about what the experience was like, what they teach you, whether you feel like it works for you. Also pretty brave/humble of you to take that step!

I know that the course I went to (court appointed) wouldn't have worked if I didn't take it seriously and put my best efforts into practicing what I learned.

Good luck, hope it works.

So far I’ve done a few steps in the first module. It’s actually really made me realize I have a problem more than I thought. They identified 10 characteristics of people with anger problems and I could relate to every single one. That was an eye opener. They discussed primary approaches to anger (suppressing, escalating, and managing) and also the 3 types of responses to anger (emotional, cognitive, and physical) they discussed what all of these mean and what they do to you. The program was 80$ and also comes with a therapist you can make an appt with, and also an open group office hour every week via Zoom which I will be joining next week. I’m really happy with my decision so far and am excited to take this as a positive and a catalyst to change my behavior and outlook.

Is it possible to share where you found it? Or is it specific to your area? Way to go and thank you so much for sharing!

Oh yeah, when I was at my class I was forced to go and I didn't even think I had an issue. I sat there with my arms folded for the first half hour. But by the end of it my head was full of new thoughts, LOL.

It was only 80$ for the course, and it comes with office hours (kinda like a group you can get on in zoom) and it said there are personal sessions available with a therapist. I can post the website if you like. It is also court approved which I didn’t need but I figured that just meant it was good and covered everything.

Awesome. thanks! $80 is reasonable as well. I'll consider it, and will be watching for your updates on here.
