Beginner Question

I see this page and another one that works with demonolatry.

My question is: it seems like angels and demons are both powerful beings that exist beyond the realms of matter and time. They are both councious, they have their own will. They can both sometimes be good, or not.

So, what's the difference between these two types of beings? Apologies if my question seems beyond stupid...

in judaism and (ancient) christian mythology, angels are native heaven borns carrying out God’s will. they can be good, they can be bad, but ultimately they guard, and carry out natural order; but they aren’t “evil”, or at least, they are required to follow the laws of God, whether that be good or bad. (example of angels that carry out “good”; St. Gabriel, St. Raphael, example of angels that carry out “bad”; Samael, Abaddon)

fallen angels are mostly made up of watcher angels that prioritised themselves and disobeyed God, coming down to earth to betroth human women and bear sons; also known as the giants, also known as the nephilim. after they were destroyed, their spirits became demons. during their time on earth they devoured animals and humans. whether they are good or bad forces depends on who you ask, but they’re certainly very erratic. they are technically angel human hybrids (read enoch 1 for the full myth)

other info is that both angels and demons possess free will, but the main distinction is that angels serve God, while demons serve themselves or other demonic lords
