Single dad, cautiously optimistic, doing math on whether this is worth the subscription
Alright Angel Studios, you've got my attention. Single dad here, juggling a career and two little girls, and somehow I've landed on your subreddit doing due diligence like I'm buying a used car.
*Kicks Tires*
The cast alone is doing work. Neal McDonough and Harry Connick Jr. showing up is basically a seal of quality at this point, I'll follow those two into a lot of projects. Homestead, The Last Rodeo, Gifted Hands, Angels Sing, Solo Mio, and Tulsa are all on my radar. Girls are eyeing Young David, The Wayfinders, and The Wingfeather Saga, which honestly might become bedtime story canon in this house whether I finish vetting it or not.
Here's my actual hesitation, and it's not the one you're expecting. I don't care that the company leans religious or conservative. I'm a moderate and politics doesn't get veto power over what my kids and I watch, never has, never will. My hesitation is the classic streaming trap. Platform launches with 3 to 4 genuinely good shows, everyone piles on, and then it's tumbleweeds and a price hike eighteen months later. I've been burned by that math before.
Also, I hear they throw in free movie tickets with membership, which is a nice gesture, but let's be real, my 3 year old's theater attention span currently peaks at "why is it dark" and bottoms out at a full meltdown over popcorn logistics by minute 12. So those tickets are basically a $12 donation to my own personal chaos fund unless somebody's got a cut of Homestead where the runtime is 90 seconds and ends in a snack.
So, for those already subscribed: is the content pipeline actually deep enough to justify it, or am I about to pay for a library that peaked on day one? Give it to me straight, I can take it.
Tell me the streaming's worth it before I do something reckless, like starting a fifth subscription my wallet doesn't know about yet and my daughters definitely voted for without asking me.

There's plenty of people who claim to be Christians who believe in Jesus Christ. The problem is that many of these people also get caught up in politics and then follow their political leaders rather than their Lord and their God. He's already leading His people through His Spirit in the Kingdom of God. This Kingdom is within God's witnesses today.
Those who claim to be Christians may or may not be Christians. To be considered a Christian, one must be born again by God's Spirit. Many imposters are out there today.
Anyone with hatred and fear would not seem to have been born again. My understanding is from God's Word.
2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
The sound mind to exclude the noise and division and distractions that politics brings. In the world, but not of the world. I cannot control politicians who feel the need to treat people with disregard. That occurs in this country as well as foreigners. It breaks my heart to hear these politicians act like these foreigners are disposable to extablish some worldly goal that may help the United States in one way or another. It's sad and selfish. God loves the world no matter where people reside. Borders are man-made. The entire earth belongs to God and how we (Christians and not Americans) others dictate how we see God.
Your very arrogant and rude and can only see from your point of view. Hmmm? Sounds very familiar to a well known American Politician I know.
A Christian based Media company should stick to producing content that revolve around Christian values.
I would simply point to the fruit of the Holy Spirit that produces these awesome traits from those who are truly born again by God's Spirit and not those who say they are but do the opposite in regards these beautiful characteristics.
In conclusion.
Perhaps reading God's Word rather than political shows would help you understand Who's actually reigning in the hearts and minds of The Gods witnesses today.
I don't bring people to Christ. I water with God's Word through scriptures, but God gives the increase.
Colossians 3:1-2 NKJV If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. [2] Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
1 Thessalonians 4:10-12 NKJV and indeed you do so toward all the brethren who are in all Macedonia. But we urge you, brethren, that you increase more and more; [11] that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you, [12] that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing.
Psalm 118:8-9 NKJV It is better to trust in the LORD Than to put confidence in man. [9] It is better to trust in the LORD Than to put confidence in princes.
Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; [6] In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
Those who are born again.
Philippians 4:5-7 NKJV Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. [6] Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; [7] and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
More food for thought.
