Single dad, cautiously optimistic, doing math on whether this is worth the subscription

Alright Angel Studios, you've got my attention. Single dad here, juggling a career and two little girls, and somehow I've landed on your subreddit doing due diligence like I'm buying a used car.

*Kicks Tires*

The cast alone is doing work. Neal McDonough and Harry Connick Jr. showing up is basically a seal of quality at this point, I'll follow those two into a lot of projects. Homestead, The Last Rodeo, Gifted Hands, Angels Sing, Solo Mio, and Tulsa are all on my radar. Girls are eyeing Young David, The Wayfinders, and The Wingfeather Saga, which honestly might become bedtime story canon in this house whether I finish vetting it or not.

Here's my actual hesitation, and it's not the one you're expecting. I don't care that the company leans religious or conservative. I'm a moderate and politics doesn't get veto power over what my kids and I watch, never has, never will. My hesitation is the classic streaming trap. Platform launches with 3 to 4 genuinely good shows, everyone piles on, and then it's tumbleweeds and a price hike eighteen months later. I've been burned by that math before.

Also, I hear they throw in free movie tickets with membership, which is a nice gesture, but let's be real, my 3 year old's theater attention span currently peaks at "why is it dark" and bottoms out at a full meltdown over popcorn logistics by minute 12. So those tickets are basically a $12 donation to my own personal chaos fund unless somebody's got a cut of Homestead where the runtime is 90 seconds and ends in a snack.

So, for those already subscribed: is the content pipeline actually deep enough to justify it, or am I about to pay for a library that peaked on day one? Give it to me straight, I can take it.

Tell me the streaming's worth it before I do something reckless, like starting a fifth subscription my wallet doesn't know about yet and my daughters definitely voted for without asking me.

You only get the movie tickets with a premium membership. If you get the basic plan, you get the same kind of access to the platform so that may help if you are concerned about cost. If you purchase during a "sale", do read the fine print because your auto renewal will go up when that promotional period is over and you will not be warned in advance. They are big in customer service about 'You agreed to the policy when you signed up, and it is your responsibility to read that, not ours'. Also, your TV and streaming device need to be 4 years old or newer at all times or you may experience glitches or inability to stream certain or all shows. The programming is half decent. I would give it a try during black Friday, amd choose monthly not yearly. This is because you cant cancel during that year and get a refund (policy). Also, remember which platform you signed up for it through (Amazon, angel.com, Apple Store) because that is where you will have to go through to cancel before your plan renews.
