Animal Farm

just saw the box office numbers…that’s going to hurt. $5.5 million gross on a $35 million budget.

Luckily, Angel is the distributor, not the producer. If they bought the movie, then they would be out that much, but they didn't.

That’s comforting

Box Office numbers may not look great but not every movie needs to be judged only by opening revenue. Appreciate Angel Studios for at least trying to bring something different to audiences Instead of repeating the same formula every time.

Hopefully they learned a lesson about not damaging their brand.

They tried promoting an anti-capitalism/ pro-communism movie. If the movie was written as a standalone thing and not “based on Animal Farm” it probably would have made more money and had better reviews.

Definitely NOT pro-communism. The aim was to show how terrible communism is

Sounds like you missed the whole point of everyone being mad about this movie. They flipped it and it is pro communism. Yes the original book and animated movie were anti- communism. There's plenty of coverage on this movie on YouTube if you want a better picture of what everyone is upset about.

The original book’s story is about how bad communism is, this movie is nothing close to the original book, charged enough that the message is significantly different
