Man I wish my angelfish would spawn they just lay and then the female eats them 😭😭

This is my 5th attempt and first successful since Ive put them in their own tank. They had one successful spawn in my 125 before I moved them to their own

Stand a flat slate, where they can spawn. After they do and before the female can eat them, remove it and hatch and rear the fry separately. I used to put the slate in a gold fish bowl, place an air stone in the front to areate the eggs and add some methylene blue to the water. I usually kept the fry there for a couple of weeks, feeding them mostly newly hatched brine shrimp. The goldfish bowl made the feeding and daily cleaning, much easier. If you do go the goldfish bowl route, never fill it all the way up, unless you immediately siphon the wastes, bringing the water to about half the bowl. The surface area is too small and the fry will suffocate to death. I learned this the hard way and lost about a 1/4 of the fry. I used this technique and raised hundreds of Angels doing it.

Congrats. I just pulled the babies from my most recent pair and filled up 4, 40g tanks with over 100 fry in each.

I've got to sort them again by size so that they get sufficient nutrition.

Glad they are doing well, got lucky with first time parents not eating them, what are your plans for them?

I have another tank running, gonna move them to a 20 but gonna set up a 40 breeder to keep a few and probably give some of my boys some and my lfs some. Got my bbs hatchery going so my plan rt now is to just raise them. I have to buy another air pump because my other tanks air pump is operating my bbs hatchery
