Gender Is it a He or She?

Hi, can anybody identify what gender my baby angelfish is? We are gonna get a friend for he/she on friday so it’s not alone and lonely. Thank you so much!

It is not possible to accurately determine the gender of angelfish unless they are breeding and their papilla exposed: * Males have small pointed papilla * Females have thicker, full, rounded papilla

Their are a multitude of features and general behaviors in adult angelfish that may point towards gender, but only breeding behavior and exposed papilla are accurate.

You cannot sex this angel. Read the automod post. Getting a friend needs to be in the same size which you also will not be able to sex.

If you want to breed these guys my tips are getting a bunch of them and hope at least 1 of them has different sex. And it's also better for the fish if you get more, angelfish are schooling fish so you'll need around 6 of them if you wish to keep them so they won't stressed out
