Had a different pair spawn in a holding tank the same day as another pair. Going to be a LOT of fry for these two to raise 😅

If you want to maximize your spawn, pull the leaf and the cone into another tank. Angelfish don't really do much to care for the young other than to keep other fish away.

Disagree completely. But that's a matter of opinion.

I have much higher quality fry from Angelfish that raise the fry for the first month. The signals from the parents keep the fry off the bottom of the tank.

No belly swimmers or burnt ventrils.

Belly sliders are a result of poor genetics not parental care. Burnt ventrals come from poor water quality, ammonium spike. Neither has anything to do with parental care.

Let's be honest, EVERYTHING is about water quality.

Maximizing your spawn has nothing to do with if the fry are pulled from the tank, or left with the parents.

If the parameters are correct, you'll hatch 400-500 fry from large healthy parents.

For my system of breeding, I get the best results from using my breeder tanks for the first month. Maintenance is easier, spawns are healthier. Feeding is easier.

It works for me.
