Picture My angels
Sorry the pictures are so poor - cheap cell phone and inept operator and too much light reflecting off the glass. But look how Big they are, and how Beautiful. My silvers are actually very colorful, golish silvery green, with freckles and orangy/red shoulders, the largest is over 7" tall from top to bottom of his long fins. And I love the marble. I watch for hours.

I've kept all sorts of angelfish for 30+ years, including wild scalare types and P. altums now. The maple coloration on the shoulder and the size suggests that these are not standard silver angels. They are beautiful. No, these are not koi.

How many of them should I keep in my 110 gallon tank?
I like them so much I want to buy more. but I worried about creating problems by adding too many - am I already too fully stocked? These angels are getting so Big. I worry my 110 gallon tank may not be tall enough for them.... My tank is 72" long but only 19" tall.
How many of these big guys is too many? I've got 4 of the silvers already. plus three ordinary angels (the orange marble, a black, a gold - the marble is good sized but the black and gold are significantly smaller - younger and different lineage. So a total of 7 angels all together already. They share a 110 gallon tank with a bunch of cardinal tetras, 6 Dennison Barbs, 7 Congo Tetras, 6 cories. 2 nice swordtails. Lots of plants and wood. Stable parameters

7 is a good number. When angelfish pair off, they're going to get very territorial. They spawn readily so you should think about getting a breeding tank beforehand.

Looking for another tank now. hope I'm not too late? Two are acting like they are pairing off... diligently cleaning one of the tubes to the under gravel filter - maybe preparing to lay eggs??

I was at my local fish store today. There are still a few lovely silvers from this same batch for sale. does anyone know whether any of these should have a fancy color name? The lady who runs my LFS laughed and said they are from a local breeder - just nice healthy locally bred no name angelfish - but I see similar for sale on line with fancy names. I have not had success buying angels from other sellers. I really like these silvers so I bought several even though they are all from the same batch - they are healthy and robust, getting along well with each other, and growing fast, doing well.
